Per game, but it's not legit weightloss. Just water weight. - DrChristianTroy
No, it is actually all water weight. In reference to a game

Even though this is an old article it is still on point. PK Subban said during that 24 ch Habs show that he loses 12 pounds a season.
Bulking down is 5X easier than bulking up. When I player college hockey they would just make you skate 100 laps to bulk down. - classic321
Interesting I remember hearing about that when I played as a teenager, that number's higher than I would have guessed though.

Very few if any are teams are going to be angry if you came to rookie camp huge. They would probably be ecstatic considering Horvat is only a month off of Hockey.
I mean we are talking about 18-21 year olds who's metabolic rate is at their body's all time peak.
So leaning out, No that I guarantee that will happen during this rookie camp and regular training camp. They wouldn't need to tell him. |

So, reading the potential rumours of trading for E.Kane: I'm not concerned because I know that the are likely a dozen teams out there that will outbid us with more the Benning is willing to give up for him; specifically PHI which is perfect fit if you ask me.
If we are going to target a home grown LW from that team; it's Andrew Ladd that we go hard after! |

I don't see anything significant happening between now and the start of the season, but that's just me. Rarely do big trades go down in mid July or August/Sept. |

Oh, I agree. But what I'm saying is (frank) trading to land Kane; target Ladd. He's exactly what this team needs. |

Ladd and Bieksa are the type of guys you want younger players learning from. Maybe not the exact skill set, but it is the on ice demeanor.

Ladd would be great to bring in for the younger prospects, problem is that you'll have to give some of them up just to get him.
*waits for Scooby to suggest Hansen + Lack + Higgins for Ladd* |

Sorry I havent been posting lately.
Im glad to see that the cupboards have finally been stocked with decent talent. Gotta give props to GMMG for unearthing some of those pieces.
Cassels
Hutton
Corrado
Shinkaruk
Horvat
Jensen
Gaunce
Fox
Subban
These are all guys he bought in, and regardless of what you thought about the scouting, it definitely was trending in the right direction.
That being said, I'm happy with the regime change. It needed to happen, and its essential that the guy who took over had a good talent evaluation background.
Benning's first draft, although too early to tell, has been a good one.
Virtanen
McCann
Tryamkin
Demko
All these guys have the potential to play in the NHL. Not all of them will make it obviously, but just having these many prospects to follow, and discuss adds another dimension that we, as canucks fans, havent had in a while.
Fox/Corrado are my choices for first call up this season.
Cant wait for October.

I really can't fathom they'd be so stubborn & closed minded that they'd let an opportunity to "buy low" on a 22yr old top flight talent pass them by. Drives me crazy. I bet Benning would have cut Richard Sherman for the same characteristics/antics that when embraced & encouraged were a large part of him developing into the top rated defensive player in the NFL by his peers only a couple years later. That sh!t's only negative if youre a stuffy intolerant control freak who can't handle someone else in the room with a bigger ego. Embrace those types & learn how to deal with them.
Put the "C" on Bieksa. He'll keep him in line. Not to mention Desjardins won't make it his mission to butt heads with him. That'll help too. I think Kane would be a superstar under WD. |

Not sure how many seen Botch's video yesterday about the prospects. he had some high praises about Cassels . He even mentioned him as a top line centre. I am not sure if was a slip of thought or he actually figures he will be a sleeper pick |

Yea, anyone who has ever weighed themselves while dehydrated and then after rehydrating can tell you it makes a dramatic difference in weight. Have gained close to five pounds while rehydrating

This is the same guy that pushed to trade Tyler Seguin because he was acting like 19 year olds act. I wouldn't hold out hope on them making a push for E Kane. |

Was just looking Ladd up. He's 28 now and has 2 seasons remaining @4.4m per before becoming a UFA.
I think a player like Ladd could easily go another 5 years as a 1st/2nd line winger. The question is, if we traded for him, would he re-sign here for 5m or under or would he take one look at Bolland and co making their $ and collect his 6m+ in 2 years' time?
Kassian + Lack for Ladd? |

Kassian (headcase with potential) + Lack (lack of experience)
For Ladd (2 cups, leader and a workhorse that has a blue collar approach to his game and can lead by example.) |
