Would be excited to see this guy on our bottom six soon. I watched a little bit of highlights on him, has a great shot. He should be worth it. He could already be NHL ready for all we know - SabresNHL
I don't think NHL ready players are traded for conditional 7th round picks unless their name is John Scott. Wait. He went for a 5th to the Rangers. |

I'm sure he'll play in Rochester this year and we'll see what happens from there
I saw an idea in the last blog that's very interesting to me
If Reinhart isn't ready for the NhL...
Why not send him to Europe?
Not the KhL, bc the conditions in that league are kinda sketchy...
But either the Finnish League or the Swedish League are both a step up from Juniors
Playing against "men" will better prepare Reinhart for the NHL than dominating another year in Juniors
We should've done this with Grigorenko
I wouldn't hate if we did it with Zadorov either
This is definitely an avenue the Sabres should explore - jdfitz77
Oh my. He tried. Sabres said no. These things don't really happen.

We tried. - Herzeleid
No we didn't. He tried. Sabres said no. We tried to send him to AHL conditioning. NHL-CHL said no. |

Being from Russia,
Maybe Grigorenko would've welcomed playing in Finlad or Sweden as an option to being stuck in Juniors
As far as Reinhart goes...
Who knows what his opinion would be?
It's an option that should be on the table though
I think playing in one of those professional leagues would help the development of a young player more than just dominating in Juniors for another year or two after they're drafted
Pegula bought the Amerks, and we now have an ECHL affiliate as well...
Maybe they can work out a deal with a Euro team as well?
Money talks
- jdfitz77
Yeah, and so do the rules. Being a Canadian in the CHL, he's not allowed to leave.

Huh?
We tried to send Grigorenko to Rochester
I don't remember anything about sending him to Finalnd or Sweden to play - jdfitz77
The NHL said "no" to Sweden.

Pretty sure the players drafted from the Chl have to go back to juniors per their agreement with the NHL. As far as sending a player over to the European leagues they have to already be there because they are under contract to those teams. That is why they don't need to sign their entry level contract right away while they still develop over there.

You do know he had a broken hand, don't you? Judge him after this season. By the way, TM doesn't agree with you.

Grigerenko said that is family is very poor and didn't even have running water, makes you wonder why a guy who is playing to earn money for his family would give such a terrible effort. He is not fast, gives sloth like Union man effort and can't score at AHL level. He will never amount to anything. It's so easy to just look at a guy and read his body language and tell if he's gonna be something. Like when the Sabres drafted David Cooper, he said in interview at draft he need to work on his intensity. Lol, I knew right there he was a bust. Effort with high end talent is what wins. Read Gretzkys or Orr's book to learn about what is needed to win. |

Last year he gets a pass to getting used to the north american game and he showed up in the playoffs. Now that being said, if he gets off to a slow start he might find himself trade bait by the end of the season. |

Mike Modano had a broken wrist but still killed the Sabres in 99 finals, super Mario had broken wrist but helped his team win playoff rounds, Paul Coffey had two cracked ribs but scored 37 playoff points... Etc excuses are for los-ers. Armia looked really talented when I watched him play all season in AHL I hope he can score this year. |

Not all union workers 89 but I must say that I very often observe Union workers on a public work job (state funded) "milking" the job so they can make inflated wages from hard working taxpayers for as long as possible. This is why it takes twice as long to build a road today than it did back in the 40's and 50's. And back then there was much more hand labor involved...... Like I said, not all union workers but the few that slack off give union labor a bad name... Non union workers do not have the job security of union workers and thus they are more likely to put in a full days work to avoid losing their job... |

If this guy is a beast and can fight a bit, I'd love to see him suit up against Boston and just continually run Chara...kind of like Gerge used to do...was that the freakin best or what!!? ... 5'8" guy running 6' 1000" guy, hilarious!
Anyway, good move by TM. I do remember him saying that one of key changes he needs to make is building a quality development program within the Sabres org...I.e. making Rochester the place where the kids learn the professional NA game before coming up. I like this move if this kid is driven to succeed..that is the right culture to develop, and it seems Murray is heel bent for leather to achieve it quickly. |
