Thats a lot of money. He's played great for them, but thats a big commitment. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm not a Dubinsky fan but his play in the playoffs really impressed me. If he can keep that up, he would be worth the money. But I see it as an overpay in the long run. Then again I feel like 90% of contracts nowadays are overpays when I first see them. |

I'm really not sure. I imagine he's a polarizing player. Probably a wide range of offers. I think the best offer may be 2 2nds. - PhillySportsGuy
That's what was offered for Coburn. Seems high.
Edit: rumoured |

He'll likely be named captain this season. - jmatchett383
I agree. He'll be an effective player for the duration of that deal because he's such a good defensive player. We'll see if his will continue to stay in 50-60 point range |

Coburn was coming off a terrible year. I think Coburn would fetch a first rounder now. |

He's basically (Philly-era) Mike Richards with a tad less natural skill and a tad less explosive hitting. |

I hated him so much when he was on the Rangers. Just a 'hate the face' type player |

If he was traded today, what do you think his value would be in terms of a draft puck? Open ended question for everyone. Note I am not proposing reading him for picks, just curious on his value. - coffee junkie
Inconsistency, development path and salary considered, not much.
I'd cap it at a top-90 pick. |

Similar defensively. He won't ever touch 80 points though. |

Keep in mind that Brian Burke still runs a team. There is no price too steep for truculence
Edit: McGinn got a top 90 pick. I imagine Schenn could do better than that. |

Bingo! He always had the face of a Ranger (or Yankee). If you're a baseball fan, it's why I wasn't surprised Mark Teixeira signed with the Yankees a couple of years ago. Same thing, he always had the face of a Yankee. |

Like I said, less natural skill. Richards was a potential 75-85 point guy. Dubinky is a 50-60 point guy. |

Felt the same way! I have always hated that guy. His (frank)ing false hustle and stupid face. Felt so good beating him when he was on the Braves. Braves gave up so much to get him and got, virtually, nothing back when they traded him to the Angels. |

Bolland's underrated?
(Career-high 0.5 ppg player, mid-40% FO guy, injury-prone... making $27.5M over 5-years?) |

Ehhhh, technically no he doesn't, but his replacement signed Deryk Engelland to a 3 year contract with like a 300% raise in salary.
So yeah, truculence n poop |

No, I see Couturier's upside much higher. Along the lines of Bergeron. Not saying he's going to hit it, but I think he's already better then Dubinsky defensively and not far behind offensively. |

Very under-rated. I'm aware of the money he got; he was slightly overpaid in term and dollars. Doesn't change the fact most people don't realize how good he is. He's had some freak injuries that have derailed his career to an extent.
That would be the all mighty and powerful Ryan Suter looking for his jock strap btw. |

His upside is higher, but most players never reach their upside. Couturier's upside is a 60+ point Selke winner. I think a Dubinsky type would be satisfactory. He's a legit #2 center who is a terrific defensive forward. |

I agree his skill-level is underrated, but he's not suddenly going to turn into a 50-60 point player, right? He primarily came up as a scorer, but hasn't been able to score... the part that's overrated are his shutdown ability and intangibles/leadership... I'm not paying a premium for either of those. |
