Because he doesn't want to play in Winnipeg? Seems perfectly reasonable to me. - AlexF
My only memory of Winnipeg was taking the train across the country in 1975 and flushing the toilet and watching my turd land on the tracks as we passed through town. |

I have no sources, but Benning being a part of the Seguin situation leads me to believe that he has no interest in Kane(sadly). |

I think we've safely come to that conclusion, but the Sekeres interview of course brought this forward again.

That's a tough trade to analyze ...if LE doesn't get concussed than the trade doesn't look as bad .... But right now it looks bad
Kane right now could possibly be better than any of the players picks I mentioned and would be an immediate impact while still being young |

Yea, I agree. I'd rather not go down that road personally |

I think most Canuck fans would rather not give up young assets but acquiring a young star player is kinda nice too .... |

Especially a proven one! I think most people will agree is that there is still a lot of upside there too. Put him in a Room with the Sedins, Bieksa, etc i think it could only help.
I doubt it will ever happen.... but it would be nice. |

I'd love it, what people don't realize is that we'd be absolutely pumped if even one of the 2 or 3 good young players we'd have to give up turns out to be as valuable as Kane to the hockey team, even if it mean that the other to didn't pan out or ended up being depth/role players.
Too bad it won't happen, so I think there's no point in even arguing about or discussing the trade ideas. |

The price is fair but if I'm making that kind of investment I want to pick the star myself. Ie. I want a Jamie Benn not an Evander Kane. And that just isn't going to happen since nobody is going to trade a Jamie Benn unless they are asking for a trade |

The thing is, a young star rarely gets made available and in those rare occasions that they do it's generally because of some issue or perceived issue. You don't get to pick and choose but you'd also be wasteful of a great opportunity to simply pass on something that is proven in favor of something(s) that are far from proven IMO. |

I still think it's a big assumption that Benning wouldn't be interested in Kane. Lots of factors to consider when comparing to the Seguin situation in Boston. Plenty of reasons why Benning and Linden would still be interested in Kane if they could get him.
I think the biggest hurdle will be Winnipeg's requirement for next year's 1st rd pick in the deal. With the draft class as strong as it is, and the possibility that Vancouver might miss the playoffs this year, trading a lottery pick in next year's draft AND the other assets they'd have to give up would be a lot to ask. |

Canucks would do that. Markstrom is no loss since Miller and Lack are very capable. We've had 4 1st rounders in the last 2 years so i think they can afford to take the hit there. Losing Jensen is tough, but i'd much rather have Kane. Sadly i doubt higgy waives. Hansen will go.... wife is from winterpeg - Mungo
Next year's draft class is going to be one of the deepest ever. Could rival 2003. |

I think you may be misreading the situation. The goal seems to be to improve the service. Nowhere has there been any indication that prices are going up
EDIT: while they may end up charging more, the service will be improved, so I don't understand your view - bezz44
They won't improve service with cheaper labour that they manage on their own. Aramark was an expert in this kind of work and the Canucks play hockey. It's not common that any organization can ace two competencies, though if the Canucks are as competent on the ice as they were last year, maybe they can at least get the food service nailed down. |

Bringing it "in house" translates to keeping more of the profits "in house". It might be a while before I go to another Canucks game live. But hey I'm getting a larger tv soon so might not be much of a loss. - AlexF
Absolutely. They laid off union workers making decent wages (probably more than the market would typically pay) and now they're going to have increased margins. I'd be shocked more by prices going down correspondingly than by Luongo winning a Conn Smythe in Florida. |

I hope your comfortable with. Markstrom, Higgins , Jensen And a 1st. Cause that us what it costs to get Kane - Greg7705
I didn't realize there was a firm price. If that's the price then the Canucks are a shoe in to land Kane, no other team has those players! |

I found it quite interesting that they were lauding the hiring of some dude who's considered one of the top bartenders in Canada, considering there are so few places you can get anything other than beer, wine or cider in Rogers Arena...
Just head down to Earls or Cactus and hire a bunch of those girls to pour beer, take tickets, be ushers, scrape the ice, drive the zamboni, etc. Boom. Building full. |

This is basically a good business practice for anyone catering mostly to men who drink beer. |
