I didn't realize there was a firm price. If that's the price then the Canucks are a shoe in to land Kane, no other team has those players! - 1970vintage

I found it quite interesting that they were lauding the hiring of some dude who's considered one of the top bartenders in Canada, considering there are so few places you can get anything other than beer, wine or cider in Rogers Arena...
Just head down to Earls or Cactus and hire a bunch of those girls to pour beer, take tickets, be ushers, scrape the ice, drive the zamboni, etc. Boom. Building full. - KB3Point0
Depends on the location of the restaurant! Found some real sub par hires at a few of those. |

LOL that is a lot for a bad attitude player. Don't think benning would do that - Greg7705
I think the real #1 issue going forward for the Canucks is having a young future #1 center. Drafting for that player is pretty difficult.... trading for one is costly. IMO, I'm watching how Benning addresses this situation to decide if he's really the GM we need. If they dont get one in the pipeline by end of next season.... this team wont be challenging for the cup with the next generation of players. I wouldnt give up assets that could be used for a high pick or a future #1 C for Kane if it put Benning out of the market.
I definitely think the deal is not too much for Kane at all. To me I think the team would only miss Jensen and the 1st. Higgins is expendable and Markstrom is being wasted here... but another winger isnt what I'd be throwing assets at from here on in...

My only memory of Winnipeg was taking the train across the country in 1975 and flushing the toilet and watching my turd land on the tracks as we passed through town. - A_SteamingLombardi
Your turd did you proud, it sacrificed its life so you could go on (it's now in the Mining & Railroad Museum). Good times, good times, indeed |

Yeah, I love the expert opinions on what exactly a players "value" is. If recent history has taught us anything, disgruntled players and trouble makers are fetching far less in trade then fans feel the are worth. |

For me its sleeping in the bus depot the 5 times I took the Greyhound through there on my Van/Toronto trips. 1981, 86, 88. $99 use to get you coast to coast on the bus. 3.5 days Toronto to Van... cant be done without drugs.

All the managers etc have much more knowledge about a player's attitude, lifestyle, behaviour etc, and thus understand that a guy like Kane is damaged goods and thus the manager who wants to make the trade gets only underwhelming offers. |

Van needs to keep its prospects.
McCann virtanen horvat shink tanev corrado is better than Kane less 2 of those guys and a 1st round pick I'm sure has to go the other way

You rarely win a trade when you're giving up the best player in the deal while he's still young. |

I have no sources, but Benning being a part of the Seguin situation leads me to believe that he has no interest in Kane(sadly). - Nucker101
The real question is how much of a problem player is he? Him flashing stacks of money around and poop like that to me is a maturity problem...which age can help... his reasoning for wanting out is only speculated. I don't know enough to paint him as a giant douche bag yet.

To touch on the disgruntled player thing. Honrstly we got mccann Dorset sbisa and boni for kes I would have taken boni straight up he's a better player for 4 years at 3 mil cheaper per season. If it was 2011 kes I would have been mad bad he isn't the guy who had those two good seasons anymore. We won that trade huge |

Agree. How old wasnhe when he did that 19 or 20? The things I was doing then are way worse than flaunting some money. |

Lots of guys change their attitude with a change of environment though. I think Kane would be a great addition and I think guys like Bieksa and the Sedins would really help him mature.
I'd be very hesitant to give up next year's 1st though. A 2016 1st would be easier to swallow. Would even toss in a 3rd in 2015. |

He's definitely a dbag, but dbags have won cups before. Only concern is that he isn't a locker room problem, what he does outside of that is fine as long as it's legal of course. |

Well, if a night club bouncer thinks poorly of someone, he must be a terrible person.
Honestly, if the kid can do this while wearing a Canuck jersey, I'll take him.
