Hey Mike,
You're not still mad about the whole thing with me, you sister and your wife are you?
Anyway, what are Panik and Connolly's cap hits? |

Carle will be fine with a D partner that can skate backwards...Yes, Gudas, Im looking at you - TBolts4
Yeah, Carle is a fine player. Not the player they thought they were getting, but a fine player nonetheless. |

I'd take Gudas over Carle in a heartbeat. |

Not as a top 4... Gudas will be fine, but at this point in his career, he's not a top 4 D... might never be. Carle is a legitimate top 4. |

No one needs to be moved I think when Ohlund goes on LTIR and the Bolts with Connolly and Panik are under the cap. I believe they are allowed to be over the CAP until the final roster day is due to the NHL at which time Ohlund goes on LTIR and they are under the cap. |

Gudas had is first full season this year. Carle is BARELY top 4 with a solid partner. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but Gudas will be better then Carle. |

Disagree. With a great partner he's more than fine. You just don't want to be paying top dollar for a guy who relies on someone else like that. Getting Carle away from Gudas and with a guy like Stralman or Garrison should help. Carle is a top-4 guy on all 30 teams in the league, IMO. Whether that's as a 3 or 4 depends on the team. |

Wow, congratulations! You found a bad play by a rookie! I can nitpick too genius. |

You need to make up your (frank)ing mind! Not a couple of months ago you were tearing Carle a (frank)ing new one. |

He's not the player they thought they were getting. That doesn't mean he's a terrible player. He and Gudas got eaten alive out there. Splitting them up and getting Gudas on the third pairing while putting Carle with someone decent should help both. That's been my position all along. |

I know you probably need to take your shoes off to count to twenty, but as of right now, if you include Drouin, We. Are. Over. |

A bad play? He has almost 100 NHL games under his belt at this point and got completely embarrassed. He would be much better off if he started playing hockey and stopped trying to be this big hitting tough guy and running himself out of position. |

OPTION 2: Put the injured player on LTIR on the final day of training camp and, including the injured player’s annual average salary or cap hit, build a roster that exceeds the upper limit by an amount that is as close as possible to the injured player's annual average salary.
By way of example, the upper limit is $70.0M and a team’s Averaged Club Salary or cap payroll on the final day of training camp is $71.5M, including an injured player with an Averaged Amount or cap hit of $2M. The team places the player on LTIR on the final day of training camp and is deemed to have already fully replaced the injured player, meaning the team’s new upper limit is $71.5M instead of $70.0M.
Had the team recalled a player with a $500K cap hit prior to making the LTIR designation, its Averaged Club Salary would have increased to $72.0M from $71.5M, and likewise its new upper limit would have increased to $72.0M from $71.5M. This highlights the importance of a team having its Averaged Club Salary exceed the upper limit by an amount as close as possible to the injured player’s Annual Average before making the LTIR placement in order to maximize cap space. |

Being a Detroit fan I expect you to hate any form of physical contact, but he's made many good plays. I've seen top defenseman get turned inside out so don't give me that poop!!!!! |

The Lightning had 21 more hits than Detroit, try again. Also I live in Tampa and probably watch just as much or more Lightning hockey than you. You were probably mad when Yzerman traded Conacher... |

2014-2015 Lightning
Drouin-3.194 Stamkos-7.5 Connolly-????
Palat-3.334 Filppula-5 Callahan-5.8
Killorn-2.55 Johnson-3.334 Kucherov-.9
Morrow-1.55 Boyle-2 Panik-???
Brown-.95
Hedman-4 Garrison-4.6
Carle-5.5 Stralman-4.5
Brewer-3.875 Gudas-.993
Barberio-.874 Sustr-.874
Bishop-2.3
Nabokov-1.55
Other
Buyout 1.167
LTIR 3.607
Retained 1.6
That's 71.546m for 11 forwards, 8 defensemen, 2 goalies and a slew of extra pay. Add Panik and Connolly to the mix and guess what fruit loop? With Ohlund's overage, we top out at 71.607 which gives us how much? 60k to fit those two cap hits!

You're one of those guys who can't make up there (frank)ing mind about who they cheer for aren't you? You wear blue until Detroit show up, then you turn your jersey inside out and boom, you're a wings fan. |

I grew up idolizing Fedorov and will always be a wings fan. Unfortunately I'm also a Lions fan. I just happen to love the game of hockey and support my local team as well. |

You know what? I laughed a little at that.
Don't get me wrong, I really like Gudas, and 100ish NHL games does not a D-man make, but man oh man... that was bad.
Gudas will be a fine NHL D-man in the long run. No, he'll probably never be a top 4, but that's fine, you need good bottom pairing guys, and he has the tools to become just that. |

Arty I am with you on this one, it kills me to go to certain games when I know Lightning season ticket members who are in my section will be wearing another teams colors. I understand such is the way with a team in the south but if you moved down here root for your local team whole heartedly... I do. I've asked some of them who's colors would you wear if their home town team came in here for a playoff game and never get a good answer. It kills me even more when I see parents making their kids wear the other jersey when those kids have been born and raised in Tampa.. you want to cheer for your home town team after moving here ok well let your kids cheer for their home town team now like you do. |
