Looking at mock draft for next summer...
http://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2015/
I wonder if Benning tries to move up again? I doubt the top 2 are obtainable but there should be a couple of other good centers in the top 10.
A player Im curious about and who may fall down the draft is OHL 1st overall Pavel Zacha. He's listed as a LW there but I've seen him listed as a C on most other sites. He's not going to report to Sarnia... and the threat of him staying in Europe may factor in the draft maybe?
He's a big kid who plays in a men's league already. Ive seen him listed 6'3" 200 lbs on a couple of other sites. |

I like Bittner, he's big, but there are so many players that could have amazing years and the draft order could change dramatically. Bittner & Virtanen could be a great 1-2 on the left side. |

Of the 30 NHL franchises, only 8 have not drafted 1st overall:
4 are teams added since 1991 (SJ, Ana, Nas, Min)
2 were added in the 70s but have since relocated (Cal & Car)
That leaves only Vancouver (1970) and Philadelphia (1967)
We aren't allowed nice things. |

How do you guys feel about Ben Hutton? Does he have legit upside? Seems like he sort of came out of nowhere this year with an excellent season. The size and production is there, but it makes you wonder if maybe his skating isn't up to par. Any insight?

They could have drafted first overall but traded the pick...

From what I've heard/read, yes. Played huge role in their top defensive pairing vs opposition's top lines & led the team in goals. Pretty stoked about the future (potential) with Tanev/Tryamkin/Hutton/Corrado/Forsling etc

No way in hell I'd trade Horvat, Virtanen or McCann and a 1st for Kane. |

I'd trade McCann + 1st for Kane in a nano-second. We absolutely get the best player in the deal and the transfer of two douchebags would effectively cancel each other out. |

I wouldn't trade McCann. Any other centre in our system, sure. |

It makes our situation down the middle worse. If it were for a player of Kane's abilities that played the middle I would tho... edit, would need a playmaker on the wing tho...
Im liking McCann more and more... I like what Benning did with the 24th. |

Yeah, it looks like a solid value pick. We'll see if he can produce more offense this upcoming season in junior. |

I think Winnipeg would do that in a heartbeat, and subsequently I think we'd see our second riot in 4 years |

It seems that more people are feelin' the love as concerns McCann, even more so than Virtanen. Great to finally have some quality youth in the system |

Yup, he needs to get his offensive game on fire this year. Would love to see to big jump in ppg for him. |

Awesome, thanks for the info. On paper, looks like a great prospect. Don't know why people don't talk about him more. |

The guy who does that mock is a HB poster, Hawks fan in JJ's blog. Forgot his name on here though.
