Anyway I am sorry to hear that you are thinking Seto might be part of the team. Doesn't say much for direction |

You don't think he could be a good value pick up? He can probably score 20 goals and wouldn't cost much with the outside chance he returns to form.
Seems like a good move on the risk/reward scale to me. |

Feels like everyone can score at least 20 goals when your team might sign them, eh? Bolland is gonna get 30 this season |

That is what everyone says at the beginning of every season and then he gets moved at the end of the season.
When I see signings like that it makes me think of band aids . I take it as I ran out of ideas let's fill it with this. |

For a budget team like AZ which desperately needs scoring and depth to overcome injuries a short-term low $ contract for Seto would be a good move. |

Good Luck if you sign Seto. You'll soon discover why he a) dropped in the draft; b) his scoring went down, and c) why he was often a healthy scratch in Minn and Winnipeg.
It's called work ethic, something Seto has always seemed to have a deficit of. He will disappear for games on end and look invisible (pun intended) especially in his own zone.
Jumbo propped him up the one year he scored 30 but playing with anyone else in 3 cities in 4 years has not produced the same scoring but alas has produced the same lack of effort. |

As a fan, I see 2 possible benefits to a potential signing:
1) Management may be looking for a reclamation project, which they have had some success at.
2) Management may not want to rush 2 rookies (Samuelsson and Domi) into their top 6 full-time to start 2014 season. At worst, Seto if even signed, could be a stop gap for another year.
On a short term deal that does not involve the team giving up assets, not sure why the risk of him sucking outweighs the potential benefits. |

Yup, too bad their wasn't $6M in the budget for a 34 year-old declining goalie. |

They definitely overpaid for Miller, but then again look at that Luongo contract they use to have. He's going to earn it on that team this year, that's for sure.

We got a 1B goalie, for a back up. for 800 large. That's pretty shrewd I'd say. |

Or 7 mil for 7 years for an average Dman that allows 50 shots a night . Or 5 mil for a. 4 th liner like Clarkson
Do you really want to get into contracts that suck? |

Most ufa contracts suck. I could probably count on one hand the number of ufas from the 2013 class that worked out really well with their new clubs.
not sure why this is going to be different for the 2014 class. Given this, i am not sure why you would question a low risk contract to seto if he is willing to sign one. |

He had a bad year, yet his 27 points would have been 8th on vancouver. What direction are they going in by the way? |

Ha! The tandem between the "professor" and Fasth is far superior than Bernier and whoever the leafs get after Reimer finishes his little tantum, hold on.... You might get Marty... Who knows Cujo might come back tomplay for such a dinasty.... Leafs suck! |

Yotes would be a good fit for Seto. As a jets fan, I was actually sad to see him go. No, his numbers were not great compared to what he has put up in the past. At a million a year, he's a great pickup. |

Still trying to figure out if Seto is an overachiever that had a couple of very good albeit lucky seasons early in his career, or just another underachieving prima donna that plays when he wants to...
Either way, his short stints with the Wild and Jets are almost carbon copies of each other. Started out fast and went completely down hill from there. Don't know if I'd question his heart or his head or maybe a bit of both.
Personally I think the guy is a head case. Wasted talent. Good luck with him if he does end up there. |
