You know, my post was about what happened since that trade. Pessimism is wrong. The only thing I mentioned going forward is "Kassian is going to be good or great.". You call that pessimism? Classic... the bandwagon screams before it reads as usual...

Drinking and HB dont go together haha.
You're right I didnt read your post properly, my bad.
Im not a bandwagoner though, Ive been a fan since 8 Y/O. I doubt I've missed more than 20-30 games since then.
Edit:
What you were saying though was that GMMG wouldn't look a genius, as the original poster alluded too; am I wrong in that assumption?
If he does end up being a great Canuck, wouldn't that change your mind regarding MG's legacy? And by saying that you think MG would not win the trade, isn't that pessimistic? When I read that I hear "Yeah, Kassian will be good, but not so good that MG would look like a genius"
I think its too early to tell what we have in Kassian. He could end up being a 60 pt guy for a few seasons. If he brings the cup to Vancouver during that time, GMMG IS A GENUIS! |

probably under her dress
Edit: you do have to feel kind of sorry for her, but then again she's done very well in her political career (not exactly easy in a male dominated conservative Germany)
Edit2: if she would just get rid of the Jim Carrey Dumb and Dumber haircut |

Not in a million years. - VANTEL
Agreed. Kassian is potentially the power forward we've never had (Bertuzzi minus the inflated ego)...

I had Kassian in the deal because in a few years i think Virtanen kinda replaces Kassian therefore making him expendable and its also an opportunity to open a roster spot for a prospect as well - GloveHandStrong
The only thing better than one power forward is two... So, no, Kassian on the 1st line and Virtanen on the 2nd would be a one two combination that could rock some teams, especially in the West which is attracting a lot of the talent these days... |

It's ok . Leaf fans haven't seen a decent goalie since Johnnty Bouwer . - VANTEL
have to give some credit to Belfour, even though he was on the decline. he was better than Josef or any of these other clowns they've had in net. Although, a lot of leafs goalies shine once they leave Toronto.
like Rask, and even Raycroft who got a standing 'O' from the crowd when he did his victory lap |

No problem. I shouldnt pick on guys too drunk to defend themselves.
It would mean he sacrificed many things to get that great player. It means even the ripple effect played a part in his firing. You have to ignore history to call it a genius move. You are basing an argument on a fantasy of Kassian being a great power forward who wins us a cup. Fair enough. If your fantasy is the flaw(pessimist) in my statement then so be it... there's optimism and reality. My optimism has us getting a good consistent player in this deal.... but at costs that were totally unacceptable at the time and completely counter productive. We are only talking about a switch to youth because MG (frank)ed all this up with moves exactly like that. There's no genius here.... just because some mistakes may revers some of the fall out.
