No problem. I shouldnt pick on guys too drunk to defend themselves.
It would mean he sacrificed many things to get that great player. It means even the ripple effect played a part in his firing. You have to ignore history to call it a genius move. You are basing an argument on a fantasy of Kassian being a great power forward who wins us a cup. Fair enough. If your fantasy is the flaw(pessimist) in my statement then so be it... there's optimism and reality. My optimism has us getting a good consistent player in this deal.... but at costs that were totally unacceptable at the time and completely counter productive. We are only talking about a switch to youth because MG (frank)ed all this up with moves exactly like that. There's no genius here.... just because some mistakes may revers some of the fall out. - boonerbuck
Kassian is the best player in that trade. no question.
Hodgson can't even play the position he was traded to play for... He was moved to the wing cuz he can't handle NHL center ice duties. Not a 200 ft. player. |

Agreed. Kassian is potentially the power forward we've never had (Bertuzzi minus the inflated ego)...
- kaptaan
What do we all base this on though? Bertuzzi was a really big body in his prime.... Kassian is not going to be in the same class. Why do people pretend Kassian is 20 pounds heavier? They are both skilled and can skate I agree but so can much of the league. It then has to be all about the size which is exaggerated here.
Kassian came in to camp at 210 pounds last season. That was 5 pounds under weight from the season before. Bertuzzi was usually 235. Played at 240 even for a while iirc. Another name people mention is Lucic. Kassian is closer to average NHL size than he is to these beasts.
People dont realize that Kassian and Kesler are very close in size and Kesler played way more physical at any point of his career so far. Kassian would have to make a jump just to make it to Kesler's level of grit and physicality. The jump from there to what a 235 pound skilled power forward does is a tall order. Do people ever think about these things? They are right there in front of you. |

Hmmm, strangely enough, no specific mention of the Fillipina hotties, which is certainly significant by its absence........ are we to assume there is perhaps some discontentment within the harem? |

Its way too early to call Kassian the better player.
What has Kassian done so far to prove without out a doubt that he is the best player? Just curious? What you think Kassian is going to do is not an argument. Lets not blame it on coaches either.
Ill start. Hodgson led the Sabres last season playing the #1 line. Hodgson was 2nd in scoring last season playing on the 2nd line. Hodgson has an A on his sweater. He is obviously part of the leadership core on that team. Hodgson carries the PP. Hodgson was lights out for team Canada as a Pro at the Worlds.
You may not have doubt but thats based on what you want Kassian to be. There's a lot of work to be done.

I'm so glad someone pointed this out. Kassian doesn't even play above his weight in terms of physicality, which as you pointed out is already quite a bit less than the power forwards around the league we all salivate over. Kassian may still be a solid top 6 winger for us, but the "power" portion isn't there. #GetOnTheJuice |

I think there are just too many variables and intangibles (as well as not enough of a sample size) to properly assess Kassian at this point, and what his ultimate role will be. I think power-forward is probably the best description at this point in time. However, Kassian has also shown that he can also be a good puck distributor and one who can be creative with the puck.
I think that people take all these physical stats (weight/height/c*ck-ring size etc) and tend to make an immediate judgement and compartmentalize as to what/where/how a player fits or should fit into the line-up. It's just too early to make any sort of definitive assessment as to Kassian's role in the future. But I would think that it's pretty much a no brainer to see him filling a similar role that Bertuzzi had (you will note Bertuzzi's playmaking ability increased as he got older) |

I see you're expanding the harem (hey, don't be a @#$@ Fillipina hotty hoarder, ya bastid!)
But you see, this (along with comprehensive lingerie selection details - for the Fillipinas and NOT you, you twisto ) is the information you should be providing on a regular basis

Kass is a playmaker with good size IMO (who has a few power moves/techniques in his bag of tricks), not a power forward |

I agree with you except maybe for the Bert suggestion.
I think Bert had more size with much better lateral movement at high speed. Kassian has better play making abilities now than a Bertuzzi had in his first half of his career. Kassian has the potential to be much less one dimensional than Bert. This is a good thing.
Jake Virtanen is almost Kassians size already. I think people are going to be talking more about his roll as Bert in just a short couple of years. He'll be a bit bigger than Kassian, that natural goal scoring ability, his more frequent physical play. I think Kassian will find his own role... it may not be the cliche one we always hear though. |

Bezz, this is my feeling as well. And by no means does that mean Kassian wont be a big part of this teams success if it comes our way.

Absolutely, I think a lot of people, especially the media are miscasting him a bit. I don't think he needs to play super mean, he sees the ice really well and is smarter than he gets credit for. I think having him stand in front of the net on the PP would be a waste of his skills.
Edit: his interviews are very impressive |

Put up your hand if you didn't know that her and Velma were lovers *crickets*
Ok, had to change the photo to something more compelling (this is Velma running away from Vantel after he proposed a threesome with Scooby (no not HockeyBuzz Scooby you perverts! )
Oh, and then she grew up Zoiks indeed
P.S. oh for gawd sakes, why was the updated photo taken down? a woman in a skirt with nylons? that's offensive? good grief....
Edit: let's just say I've seen much much more salacious photos on here. Ok, end of rant, I just @#$#@ hate the apparent minuteau and extreme subjectivity of censorship.
