Its way too early to call Kassian the better player.
What has Kassian done so far to prove without out a doubt that he is the best player? Just curious? What you think Kassian is going to do is not an argument. Lets not blame it on coaches either.
Ill start. Hodgson led the Sabres last season playing the #1 line. Hodgson was 2nd in scoring last season playing on the 2nd line. Hodgson has an A on his sweater. He is obviously part of the leadership core on that team. Hodgson carries the PP. Hodgson was lights out for team Canada as a Pro at the Worlds.
You may not have doubt but thats based on what you want Kassian to be. There's a lot of work to be done. - boonerbuck
Okay, so I'll respond.... Kassian and Hodgson started out at different ends of the spectrum. Kassian started out as a marginal player with questionable defensive ability in torts 'system' and worked his way up the food chain if not in actual TOI and his trajectory ended on a positive, including getting kudos for improving his defensive ability/ positioning... Hodgson was handed the 1st line centre role, along with the 'A' etc... and worked his way off the 1st line, to the 2nd line and then to the wing. Along the way, Hodgson had his defensive ability questioned and his commitment to improve in that area.
Oh you kids and your rock this and rolling that - am I saying that right? rock and this rolling? Corinthians VII 3:2 "let he who seeks hotties, seek refuge in all things boinkable, go forth unto the world fondling Sears underwear mannequins to the mellifluous sounds of rock and rolling n such"
Leviticus III 2:3 Lest he who loveth tube-tops not covet Vantel's Fillipina hottty, his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey (ok perhaps the donkey thing isn't that bad), or anything that belongs to Vantel" <<<<< one of my favourite passages of the Bible besides "Who let the dogs out"
In fairness, it is Buffalo, hardly an accomplishment...... - chompsey
Ya, Buffalo is a joke and if Cody Hodgson is your #1 C you have troubles indeed. Still, he did as well as our team leader(Kesler) last season on a PPG basis. Thats on a POS team like the Sabres like you say. So there's another way to look at it.

Not the worst choice, Kaptaan

Lols, yeah, i'm into country music, which is more like rock these days in a lot of cases...
His argument is funny actually. Im wrong if this young core wins the Stanely Cup. Yet he also says Gillis is an idiot for making that trade at that junction which is my point exactly without the insult.
So Im not wrong...unless we win the cup with Kassian in the line up.
Great arguement. I cant win it as long as Kassian is a Canuck. Im so negative. Is that you Boinker?

the players are going in opposite directions.
Just to compare stats for fun...

Hmmm, no where do I see you explain how Kassian is without a doubt the better of the two? Hodgson is a top six player for the last 2 seasons. Kassian is not there yet.
Wouldnt Kassian have to do something consistent on the top six before we even start looking at any numbers?

Zack Kassian's P/60 = 1.85
Hodgson's = 2.02
Kassian's played 156 games in the NHL
Hodgson's played 211
Hodgson gets PP mins, faces tougher competition, but has 55 games more experience.
Numbers dont flatter the Canucks organization, but I hope that changes over the course of a few seasons; being optimistic.
Those comments are usually thrown at me when I dont unrealistically play along with the exaggerations about our players etc... what can I say. I'm useless at being manipulated with popular opinions and cliches.

haha thats cool man. This board would suck if everyone thought the exact same way lol. It'd just be another CDC.
Any of you guys gonna cop NHL 15 for next gen systems this fall?
It'd be cool to start a league where we could trade and play among ourselves. 30 teams = 30 GM's.
Anyone interested? - Gullzy
Are you sure you don't want to be on CDC?
Most of us on here are middle aged, overweight, scotch drinkers; you'd probably be lucky to get 10 guys with next gen consoles, let alone getting 30 to join your league on here.
I have an xbox one, and will be getting NHL15 but I'm not into joining any leagues.
