It's still a Tampa blog. But for some reason, it's about one of your players and our team. Your blog and blogger though. |

TB is where it is at for him if he has aspirations of winning a cup. The Leafs organization is going sideways. No organizational depth. - Beachcomber
That's cause Burks first draft is just starting to mature... |

And the nucks are loaded with depth. One player with 50 pts, and two with at least 40 last year.
I agree the leafs are going sideways, but safe to say so are the nucks. |

OK I'm pretty much watching this blog and enjoying it but get your facts straight. Vinny wasn't hated on don't know where you got that... no one wanted to see him go but we understood his salary cap hit had to go... he has and always will get a warm welcome in Tampa as he is beloved here.
Marty on the other hand will be hated on... Steven even understands why the fans feel the way the do.

Being a Tampa fan are you worried he might come to Toronto? I mean it is certainly possible. It is more likely he will resign but it's something to e worried about you can't deny that. |

I was responding to the guy who said Vinny left on bad terms... that is false.
Like I said earlier in this blog its funny to me because the Lightning can't even begin negotiations for a year. If he hasn't signed an extension by the start of the 2016 season then this is something to talk about. Until then I will enjoy him leading the Bolts this year with probably 50 goals and a 100 points, cant get enough hammer time at the forum. |

I think it's certainly possible. It would be a huge blow to Tampa but they will be good enough to overcome that in 2 years I think. If it were to happen. |

I changed 3 words, it's not wrong.
St.Louis, Lecavalier, Bergeron, Stastny etc. The habs think they will get every player from quebec, or with a french name (Giroux) but rarely do. Glass houses - GardinerExpress
Where in my post did you see me say that Québec born players want to play in Montréal?
Most of them don't, I don't blame them. |

This really is a goofy comment. Wherever Stamkos goes he greatly increases that teams chances of winning a Cup. Or at the very least competing for it. Take Stamkos off the Bolts, put him on the Leafs and right away the Leafs are closer to a Cup than Tampa. Add the fact that his presence could attract other FA's or star players and it makes a point like this moot. It's not like the idea of playing with Kessel and JVR is something so horrid, Stamkos couldn't possibly consider it.
All this said, I don't believe Stamkos will play for or sign with the Leafs. |

IMO I see him staying in Tampa, he has great rapport with the community, owner Vinik, Yzerman, just about everything and everyone down here in Tampa. Less media headache, great weather, a young team only getting better. If Tampa contends this year which they should I don't see why he would want to leave as this team should be good for a few years to come to try and win the cup.
Outside of Filppula, Callahan, Boyle, and Morrow the rest of the forwards which is 9 guys who should make the roster are under the age of 25 including Stamkos. Add in a better blueline and Bishop/Vasalevskiy Yzerman has build this team around him to win the cup. Again if by the start of the 2016 he hasn't signed an extension like Toews/Kane just did then I will wonder what his intentions are.
But I got over a year to think about that. I am thinking right now about Stamkos is how will Drouin look on Stammers wing once he gets comfortable which will probably be halfway into the seaon, will Palat play on their line as well. Palat-Stamkos-Drouin is going to be a fun line to watch if it happens.. |

Stamkos will sign again in T-Bay. These players can't turn down these massive contracts. If they wait until they are UFA eligible, they could get hurt and lose it all.
I really hope non Leaf fans spin this into Leaf fan hope. This is a cheap blog to get the writer attention.
Mike Babcock, now there's a guy who could be arriving in Toronto to coach the Leafs. |

Direct comparison of being a grease ball? You hadn't stated context so I had to assume. - Seitch2
I may be taking the tweet the wrong way, but I highly doubt Stamkos would not impact Toronto nearly as much as Lebron impacts Cleveland. So Stamkos is not Toronto's Lebron.
Edit: Stamkos would impact* |

LOL, 4 game first round sweep in the QF and they're "one of the NHL’s top franchises." That's cute. |

Pretty much sums up how I feel about it. Chances are heavily favoured that he signs long-term in Tampa Bay. But people shouldn't assume to know his intentions based on how they see the situation. |

A Basketball superstar dictates the play so much more than a superstar in hockey. Lebron plays so much of the game. |

The Leafs have great talents and way overpaid ok/bad talents. I don't think that is a good thing.
The thing with these Bolt forwards this year is potential. They all showed so much potential last year and lead the team to the playoffs without Stammer and then without Marty. The question I have with the Bolts this year is will the young forwards continue to mature and play at the high level they have. I think they will because of the way Yzerman handles the development of players. Really Palat, Johnson, etc. are going into their 4-6th years of pro hockey in which they have won at every level. Im looking forward to this season to see how it gels for the Bolts. |
