Steve Ott said he was committed to re-signing with St. Louis.
"I wanted to go to St. Louis," Ott said. "That was my No. 1 spot. I told my agent, 'Listen, let's make this work any which way we can.' My heart was already locked up with St. Louis. I'm happy that my family and myself, we're where we wanted to be. That was my No. 1 thing, to be a Blue again." Ott joined the Blues as part of the Ryan Miller trade. He had three assists and 37 penalty minutes in 23 games with them last season. - SABRES 89

Thats what every player says. If he had signed with the Sabres he would have said the same thing only replace St Louis with Buffalo. When they sign with a team they have to make themselves look committed and ingratiate themselves with the fans. |

Gionta is a much better choice to mentor the young guys. Let him stink up the joint in St. Louis. |

I would have loved Ott for 2 years, but after saying that we do need to have spots for the kids in the top 9, not bottom 4 |

Why is that the Sabres fault? How do you know he didn't turn them down?
Just cuz you may want someone with the organization doesn't mean they want to be there. |

Isn't Flynn number 65? I'm very interested in seeing how that line performs; definitely a Tim Murray type of line with size, grit, and skill (relatively speaking). - rcostel77
Martin wearing #21 - dont think it matters much? Unless Drew is on his way out! |

Oh no! You lost the bet. I shouldn't have to show up somewhere to collect! If you were at Larkin, you were close enough to deliver. |

Or they simply have random numbers..you know..like the kids not destined for the NHL in the near future. |

He is someone you would want to have around your kids. Pegula has deep pockets, make him an offer he wouldn't turn down. It's not that hard to do if you really want a guy.
Basically he would be the next head coach here once Nolan changed the culture. I would think it would be a great fit. |

Sorry, I just don't believe in calling the team out for things that don't happen because you won't know if a person was ever made an offer, if they never accepted calls, never wanted to go somewhere else, etc.
Just because Pegula is a billionaire doesn't mean he can buy anything and everything. |

The bet couldn't be cashed in on until after February. And I haven't been in Florida since October. |

Ted Black actually said that during the "Meet the President" event I got to take part in during the season. I had asked if there was going to be any change in the amount of exposure we have to Rochester here in Buffalo (more games on TV, etc) and he said that as much as they would love to do that, it's very expensive and that Terry's resources are not infinite so they have to be smart about what they use their resources on. |

I am talking about an assistant coach, not starting a TV station or anything like that.
Fact: The Sabres just opened their development camp with a ton of players who we expect to play a big role with this organization in the future
Fact: The Sabres need to hire assistant coaches
Fact: The Sabres opened their development camp with having openings on their coaching staff
Something is wrong there if you ask me. Whether its Dineen or whomever the fact that there are openings on the coaching staff and they started camp without a full staff is wrong IMO. |

Haha. That's amusing.
I get it. I only asked because they kept saying during the meeting about how they want the kids to play together and win together in Rochester. So I figured if I was being told I had to be patient and let the kids develop, I'd ask if they were going to make any changes to the amount of exposure we have to the team here in Buffalo without having to commute the 1:30 drive down the thruway. |
