Thanks for the insight. Wasn't able to attend. I will be going tomorrow for the scrimmage, however. This comment has more to it than Garth's latest blog... - SabresNHL
I beg to differ. Nothing rhymed....the word "sick" wasnt used once and there was no reference to crappy, 2nd rate canadian bands that no one outside of Canada and western NY has ever heard of.

All of them on the top2 lines of each squad have the potential to be top6 guys (plus Malone & Bailey)
It depends what u mean by "top6" though
What I mean here is...
A guy like Pascal Dupuis isn't really a top6 guy... But u play him on Crosby's wing on the 1st line and it works out just fine bc of how they compliment each other
Is what u mean who do I think can be 25+ goal scorers?
Or are u asking who I think will work out as opposed to who might be a bust?

I think it was the drills after the 2013 draft, but someone kept beating Risto a couple of times and I'm trying to remember if it was Baptiste, does anyone else know/remember that went to the drills last year? |

Goals. 25+ at the nhl level. The size, character, and drive seem to be taken care of. They are gonna be nasty.

Haven't seen enough of Samuels-Thomas, Malone or Cornel to have a solid opinion yet
Our best snipers are Armia & Baptiste. I think they both be NHL guys that score at least 20goals per, with potential to be 30goal guys
Fasching, Carrier & Bailey could all be 25goal guys... OR... End up like Mancari or Adam
Reinhart & Grigorenko look to me to be playmaker types that also can score... I'd say 20-50-70pts guys, with Reinhart having more goal scoring potential... And Grigorenko having potential to be a bust for multiple reasons
Girgensons and Lemieux look to me like they'd top out at 20goals unless they end up getting significant PP time, which will be tough with the other talent we have at forward...
Compher looks like a very similar player, but could end up being the best scorer of the group
Regardless, all three players will be loved by fans for their style of play
Kea, Schaller & Jacobs could all be NHLers, but prob top out as 4th liners similar to a Gaustad or Mair
Catenacci is a guy I like bc of his speed and feistiness... He's a lot like Ott, but with much more scoring talent. His size might hurt him though when it come to this Mgmt group, and I could see his success happening elsewhere (like McNabb)
Hope that helps...

I took my son and niece to the practice this morning and wanted to share some observations:
Grigorenko will be one frustrating player to cheer for. He appears to float for long stretches and then pops in 3 quick goals.
Girgensons, Pysyk, McCabe, Samuels-Thomas, and Armia seemed to be much thicker, and stronger than anyone else on the ice. In contrast, and quite obviously, Oloffson, Willman, and a few other invitees were clearly still immature, body wise.
Samson Reinhart also looked a bit undersized and will need to work hard to make the roster.
Brendan Lemieux gave someone a shot to the shoulder/chest after he knocked Lemieuxs stick from his hands. Later he exchanged blows with JT Compher, with Compher skating away checking his cheek for blood. I like the feistiness but it was a bit overboard this early. I'm glad he's a Sabre, though.
No big deal with Nolan watching. He was sitting with TM, Pegula, Devine and about 7-8 other big cheeses. The practice was run by Cassidy, Taylor and several other Rochester guys. Most end to end rushes, 2 on 1, 2 on 2, breakout/backcheck, and 3 on 3 half ice take back game. I could have run it. - jkuczkowski
So he's Vanek every time be (seemingly) played Tampa......... |

Myers isn't being shopped so I don't know why anyone believes he'll be traded. Yeah anything can happen sure but Murray is holding onto Myers for now. DET loves Mantha too much. That's who Murray would have picked after trading back into 1st rd if he would have been GM for us at the time to end up with three solid players.
WPG wants Too much for Kane.
Our current offer was WPG's pick between Stafford/Stewart/Hodgson along with 2016 1st.
WPG wants one of those three with a prospect and a 2015 1st rounder.
If we do get Kane, which I doubt, we'd prolly be giving up Hodgson, Baptiste and a 2015 2nd
Someone is gunna get traded before the Ennis deal I would imagine. Not enough spots will be left when all said and done. Also personally hoping we sign Del Zotto. - Beezer33
I would trip over myself making that trade. |

Not sure if posted already but nice read:

I'm truly excited by the amount of kids we have in the pipeline. If only 50% pan out we still have a solid team for years to come with 3 additional top prospects at minimum coming next season. |

This. I love our current prospect pool as it's clearly the best in the league right now, but we're about to add to it 3 1st round picks in a supposedly deep draft, two of them most likely being top 3 and top 10. The 2nd rounders will be high as well.
