SABRES SIGN FORWARD ZAC DALPE

BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 13, 2014) --- The Buffalo Sabres today announced that the team has signed forward Zac Dalpe to a one-year contract.



Dalpe (6’1”, 195 lbs., 11/1/89) played a career-high 55 NHL games as a member of the Vancouver Canucks during the 2013-14 season, recording seven points (4+3). A former second-round draft pick (45th overall in 2008), Dalpe has appeared in a total of 96 NHL games in his one year with the Canucks and three previous seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Hasek won with other teams and IMO all that crap he did with the Sabres means nothing to me, winning a cup is what matters.

Some around here will argue that at best he's a 5-6 guy.

I think 3-4 is where he ends up, but if he develops a bit further, I dare say he could actually be as high as a 2.

On a perennial contender, 3-4 is probably right though.

You cant teach him to skate like the wind, or have a rocket shot, or have a mean streak though.

I dont hate the guy, he's only 22, just don't see the 3-4 potential on a good to very good team. Hope I'm wrong.

Can never have too much Glue ! Unless you are sniffing it of course . I heard many years ago you can get the same effect if you smoke dried Banana peels . Don't know if it works myself . Might be an urban legend !

He will be a great 5 - 6 then . That is a good penalty killer . I can live with that.

Then by that argument every single Sabre is overrated.

No goaltender has ever dominated the NHL like the way Hasek did during his time here. He is a top 5 all time goalie. To say he is overrated would be like saying Barry Sanders was overrated.

Both Hasek and Sanders played on terribly built teams and the main reason for their teams success whether minor or not was solely because of those two guys.
