Yes, he IMO deserves more of a spot on this team than Marcus Foligno and that's huge for me to say since I have NEVER been a Flynn fan |

If it's on the 3rd line, then yes.
I see no point in him wallowing on the 4th line or 13th forward.
Trade him to give him the chance or get him in Rochester.
He's a competent 3rd liner, who's been asked to do to much on a sh!t team, and IMO is a 15/15 guy on a competent team. |

Time to make you boys and girls think.
EXCLUDING Orr, Bourque, Chara, Coffey, MacInnis, Lidstrom, Potvin and Leetch, who are your top 3 modern-era defensemen?
For me, it's Scott Stevens, Scott Niedermayer and Rod Langway. |

He was a key last year. For the most part he was MIA for their 1st one.
I know you disagree but he was bagged on big time for it. - dadeadhead
Gunner posted a graph here a while ago that showed how LA's offense skyrocketed when Carter was acquired. Same thing with Gaborik
Both of them were key to their cup wins |

Agreed.
Flynn is fine for now. He plays hard, seems like a really good guy (easy to pull for), decent on the PK, good wheels. I think if he bulked up just a bit, he has enough of something to play in the league for another decade, maybe bouncing around on a few teams, but valuable enough where he'll always get a contract somewhere. I like him. |

I do think at least one of Doughty, Keith, or Shea Weber will end up leapfrogging a handful of those names when all is said and done. |

Carter was bagged on as a no show during the playoffs in 11/12 for the 1st two rds.
And rightfully so, he was invisible.

Not with Dalpe being signed now. Dalpe probably takes his spot. |

Maybe he was, but when it mattered he scored. Had 8 goals and a few GW.
Compare that to Vanek getting worse as the playoffs go deeper and I think it's fair to say Carter is better at this point.
However I agree I have no interest in Carter nor do I want him. I just think he's a really good borderline great player that gets a lot of critics, that's why I say he's under rated. But agree to disagree |

Disagree.
Dalpe seems more like a "help Rochester and call up when injuries happen" move. |

Dalpe is an AHL depth signing/poss call up. Not a thing more. |
