we're real, alright. you just can't handle the realness. it's too scary. - hammarby31
Your realness is so real on the realness scale that the realness can't really be real. |

One of my son's friends is a goalie. When I mentioned he might play out his father told me it was too dangerous for him to be a hockey player, he's focused on being a goalie.
- mayorofangrytown
i actually agree with him. i think it's far more dangerous being a forward or dman, than it is a goalie. at least physically. mentally, no. |

I'd guess that Murray'd want the Schenns and a top pick. He's not going to move Myers cheaply. He might even not want the Schenns, maybe he'd demand Simmonds or Voracek. - Jsaquella
I wouldn't trade either of them for Myers. |

it's amazing to me that sittler wore skates with that kind of frame and blade in 1982-83. |

He's 16U. The kid would play out, the parents say no way. They don't want him to get hurt but shooting pucks at him and stomping/charging him in the crease is all good. - mayorofangrytown

I don't think I would, either. Definitely not Voracek. |

Myers would be a risky acquisition. He can be anything from a #1 to an inconsistent #4 |

but, but hockey...
Realistically, the kid doesn't have a team right now. As you well know goalie spots close fast and he got caught over reaching his ability. If he wants to play he has to play out. You're his parent, let's say, do you let him sit and protect him or play out? |

In yet another example as to why Hockey players are the best professional athletes...
Jaden Schwartz changes his number from #9 to 17. 17 became available when Vlad headed to the KHL
Schwartz will wear No. 17 next season in honor of his sister, Mandi, who was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia in 2008 and passed away in 2011 at the age of 23. Mandi wore the No. 17 with the Yale University women’s team. |
