It's a tough one though. I'd hate to be the guy who failed to find a player a position on the team and then be tasked to try again the next season with virtually the same roster.

He's got to be more willing to break up his precious pairs. Giroux and Voracek together is great, but they can't play 60 minutes a night.

Umberger and maybe Laughton will bring more defensive responsibility to the line up. Playing Vinny with Schenn and Simmonds didn't yield a bunch of that in my opinion. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing that tandem broken.

I expect him to be better, not sure it'll be good enough to justify the contract. He was awful last year, the only thing he did well was score the 20 goals.

I'd like to be that guy, because I'd make more in 1 season that I will my entire career. I'd deal with it.

I'd split all three up, personally. I see three possibilities for Vinny.

1. Centering a 4th line with guys like Bellemare, Akeson or Raffl as his wings. Guys with speed and smarts who can move the puck and in the case of Raffl & Bellemare have show to be decent two way guys at the pro level.

2. RW on a line with Giroux

3. C on a line with Read or Voracek as one of his wingers.

True the 20 goals were very helpful. But he was highly ineffective at ES and the Flyers inability to generate offense at 5 on 5 was really what killed them vs the Rangers in the playoffs.

Vinny's poor two way play was evident then, and his one goal wasn't a big factor

I really wouldnt mind this either...

Hopefully Morin shows him the proper form & technique to throwing sticks. Then he'll be well on his way to beefing up.

Early on in the season Vinny and Schenn showed tremendous chemistry.

It looks good on a stat line, sure...and when you ignore all the other stats, it's impressive.

The trouble is, Lecavalier was such a big liability in other areas, the 20 goals wasn't really enough to off set it.
