This may be unpopular, but I hate Pearl Jam - PhillySportsGuy
That's another one. Although I liked their first 2 albums, they've put out nothing but garbage for years, yet they're a band that constantly gets radio play and sells out immediately wherever they go. But that doesn't mean they're some great band. |

Yet they get consistent radio play and sell-out concerts world wide. - jmatchett383
Making a profit does not mean one's product has anything more than commercial value. It is not a reflection in any way of its quality.
If it is successful and stands the test of time, and is for the most part held in high regard, that is something not a lot of things achieve. |

Yanni's still around and is held in high regard in the music world. Yet he blows.
Lady Gaga is well on her way to becoming a musical icon. |

I have never heard this before.
Think of it this way. Yanni is to music what romance novels are to literature. Just because something can be enjoyed does not mean it is of high cultural value. |

I know a lot of people who like Pearl Jam. For most of them, I don't respect their taste in music. They're people who are "happy to listen to whatevers on the radio" |

Off to bed. Maybe the bedtime fairy will bring me visions of Kramer running into my front door telling me to put my clothes into my oven. |

Lady Gaga is on her way to becoming a pop entertainment icon, not a musical icon.
Her music will be forgotten in 10 years in the way Ace of Base is largely forgotten. And they pretty much sound the same. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. |

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. That one DJ on WMMR who likes them got into a texting debate with me one night. I said I liked them back before the became a radio-friendly hit machine...same goes for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. |

For modern-day Pearl Jam and Seinfeld, yes. Now, if you want to talk about Bruce Campbell, the king of cheesy one-liners and ultra-masculine chins, that's a different story. And I totally understand people not liking him. |

I actually enjoyed that one, the one where Jerry's girlfriend gets him out of the tickets, and the smelly car. |
