But that's the ruling for NA junior players. The 10 games is the 9-game tryout we're familiar with. Hagg is not a NA junior. - jmatchett383
He finished up in North America last season... That doesn't count? |

So, does that mean Laughton is going to burn a year of his EL contract regardless of where he plays this coming season? - wolfhounds
Yep. The only slide eligible guys, under contract currently, are Morin and Hagg. |

Doesn't matter, according to capgeek. Any ELC under age 20 is eligible to slide. |

Yes. His ELC kicks in this year. - jmatchett383
Cool beans. So his performance is what matters this coming season. I like it. |

Hampus Lindholm played 44 games in the AHL in 12-13 and his contract slid.

So, Robert Hagg could play a full AHL season and not make any money? |

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd enroll in law school just to understand the CBA... |

No, he'll get paid, but the contract term basically extends a year |

He will make $70,000 if he plays in the AHL all season long.

That just seems wrong. If they go back to juniors a la Morin, it makes sense since he's not playing for a Flyers' affiliate. However, Hagg is getting paid by the Flyers, yet he isn't listed as having played for them. I understand it, it just seems wrong. |

Oh sure, but it's really just keeping them from RFA for a single season or two at most. |

Yeah, it does. I wish it was as simple as sign the guy, bring him to the AHL and rock and roll. I'd love to have a CBA that is simple and clear cut. It sucks that fans have to know and worry about how much cash a guy makes. |

Well, it could be worse. We could be dealing with slide rules based on total minutes TOI. |

Yeah, i get the idea behind the slide rule, but it seems pretty easy to abuse. |

I don't think it would be fair for teams have a 18 or 19 year old play in the AHL and have that get them a year closer to being a RFA.
And it's not that complicated. If the young player plays 9 or less NHL games then his ELC slides till the next year. |
