Not an expert on it either, but I thought 20 was the age you're allowed, but perhaps the rule is "20 by time the season starts", but I thought it might be 20 that calendar year. *shrug*

Not sure anything was blame, just questioning how a skating coach is really supposed to help someone "turn the corner" on their development.

I don't get it either... (the reason for doubting another coaching tool to make someone better)

A lot of players get drafted past the top 10 because their skating is questioned. I mean, sometimes a guy simply can't get any better, but some guys, maybe with awkward strides or poor acceleration, these are techniques that can be worked on. Like I said before, Corey Perry had these questions in 2003. It also took him 4 years with Anaheim to become a great player.

If I had to choose one player that really stuck out to me it was Carrier. Had 2 or 3 really good chances including one that went off the post and showed great speed.

On the other hand, Lemiux didn't do much for me. He had some scuffles and tried to get under the skin of players but as far as offense goes he wasn't doing too much.

I think our defensemen were really good last night with Risto and Zadorov looking much bigger and much better than everyone else on the ice, possibly to the point where it was killing our top lines offense. I'd like to see both go down to the Roch and juniors respectively but everything I saw I liked.

Also, 8,000 people at a scrimmage for the last place team in the middle of July, that's not too shabby

I don't think that Zadorov will have an offensive upside as Seabrook does.

Zadorov is going to be a best 2nd line pairing type guy in the NHL. Just punishes everyone that comes near him.

If only he had a killer slapper from the point.

If Zadorov can grow into the role of defensive zone general & enforcer... He's got the makings of a top pairing crease-clearer.

But even if he's just a bigger version of Robyn Regher, that's a great fit with either Myers or Risto.

He was drafted in 2013 but that was already his 3rd full season of play. He played last year thus meeting the required 4 yrs of play.

20 yrs old counts based on the last date a player is eligible for the draft. (IE: late birthday like Sam Bennett).

Still no assistant coaches.. I'm hoping for Oates to fill one of those spots seemed like he got a raw deal in Washington

I'd like to see Cunneyworth....he's a good tactician...and guys would run through walls for him.

I think it's hard to compare him to anyone because his pre-draft season in Jr was so different from this last year in Jr. I'm with you though. I feel like going to Rochester would be better for his development, but either he's in London this year or here in Buffalo.
