He'll likely play some games up here but wouldn't call him a lock for 82 in any event. If he can get better in the AHL logging over 20 minutes a game on a winning team I can see him being sent down. - Zschalberg
We'll see.. I think its near a certainty he's a full time player here. |

Nolan and everyone else in the organization has been drooling over this kid in camp. I think he's a lock. Like I said I'd state my avatar picture on it as a friendly wager to anyone wanting to do the same..
I agree I think Zadarov gets sent back most likely but if I had it my way he'd be here and Weber would be traded for a 5th round pick.. - bluengold12
They've been drooling over the fact that he's going to be a shoe in defenseman for the next 15 years. |

Zadorov need to be in juniors he's close to being ready but he's not there yet I'd rather him be a junior - GERBE!!!75PTS
I'd rather have him be the 7th D man here then have him do the same old thing in Juniors... I do see him going to Juniors but I don't think he deserves it.. The kid needs to be playing against men. |

Who does that help? Certainly not him. It's not how this organization runs. If we're not playing those 2-way eligible guys, they are being sent down. Even Pysyk, and he was on rotation as a second and third pairing. |

He definitely can play, but no way is a lock.
As far as Zadarov, I'd wager he's a lock to be sent back.
They would have to waive someone to keep all the bodies they have.
Myers, Pysyk, Weber, Mezaros, Georges, Ruhwedel, and maybe Ristolainen are the 7 they will keep IMO - sbroads24
You act like this is a problem when Weber is there.... |

Hey, I think the kid is a stud, and want him here. I just think it's possible they sign another vet.
We have Andrej Mezaros on this team. That means someone else will get his 50 games he's bound to miss |

No, they've been saying and I'm slightly paraphrasing here but things like
It's clear he wants to be here, he puts it so much work off the ice. You sometimes forget how young he is because he looks so much like a man out there. Also how his game has improved.
Look I'm not saying he's going to be an all star off the bat but I will say that he will be on the roster next year and I'm very confident on that remark. |

I would rather him get 25 minutes to 30 minutes in Jr he needs more polishing in his game

Agreed. I don't follow juniors or anything, but I'd wager that Zadorov in Jr.s isn't dominating as much as Grigorenko did in Jrs, yet he was sent down.
No problem leaving him down this year and have him finish the season in Rochester when his Jr. team is done. |

Wont get it in Juniors it will be more domination like Grigerenko.. He improved so much after he got to AHL and realized what he needed to do. |

You'd need to qualify your bet I'd think. No doubt he'll get some games, but I think you'd have to qualify it with 50+ games |

I personally think he may end up being an allstar, but that's outside the scope here. Depending on a veteran signing.. signs, 25% chance Risto. Doesn't sign.. 95% chance of Risto. |

My point was I just don't see him gaining anything playing in Juniors this year.. Even though that's where he's bound to end up. I personally think he'd learn more from playing 30-40 games this year in the NHL then a full season leveling 16 year old scrawny kids into the boards all season. |

Fine let's do he'll get at least 50 although I personally see him staying up all year. |

Once again, that brings us back to player development. These coaches are behind the scenes helping these junior eligible prospects on the finer points of their game so that they know what to work on each day, and yes, playing 25-30 minutes a night game action is much better than watching 60 minutes a night in a press box. Hell, if watching made me good, I'd be Gretzky. |

He's not developed enough to earn 30-40 games in the NHL. His game just isn't there yet. Playing 10-12 minutes being outclassed is like getting certified in a profession after taking 3 out of a possible 30 courses. It's overwhelming, confident damaging and setting you up to fail. Yes, I understand he will be dominant in juniors, that's the point. The obvious points of his game like his shot and his physicality are there, but his stick handling, wrist shot and decision making under pressure could certainly be improved upon with another year of junior eligibility. |

I think I read an article recently how the Sabres have explicitly explained to these prospects that demotion is not a bad thing. |

The 2 way contract only means that a guy gets paid less if he's sent to the AHL than if he's with the NHL club. They can still be sent down.
Ruhwedel hasn't played enough games in Buffalo or too many in Rochester to have to clear waivers as far as I know, so he could get sent down. He'll just be receiving the same paycheck no matter what team he's on. |
