i've stuck to name/numbered t-shirts...easier to stomach when a player gets dealt or starts playing awful.

I have a Richards shirt, and a Kopi olympic one. There's something about driving up to LA and hanging outside Staples in a jersey though.

I went with a C. As stated, he is what he is and he's becoming expendable. I wish him well, but with so many behind him waiting for a chance, I think Cliffy's played enough to show what he can bring and it's time to plug in an unknown. We wont get much for him, but we can restock the cupboard.

will repost when his review comes up but: I can understand why plenty dislike or would like to see King gone, but I'm not in that boat. He's a really good bottom 6 that can play up for stretches and while he doesn't use his size the way arm chair forwards swear they would if they had it, he is very effective on the forecheck and 5-/50 battles along the boards. The only time I cringe when he's out there is when he's killing penalties.

Not to give away much on my King review but I tend to agree here. King is an extremely hard guy to play against. Harder than Clifford. He also just came off a 30 point season. Not sure what more folks want. That's a fairly ideal bottom liner.

Back to the article for a second, Clifford does his job. He provides energy and is very solid in the playoffs (he got the comeback started in game 1).

That being said I would rather give a shot to a younger player this season. Clifford is cool but his regular season play is for the most, pretty lackluster for me.

Couple times a year I get hooked up with VIP passes through Clifford's family, Yeah I hope he spends his whole career here!!

King is just frustrating to watch. We all know what he is capable of, he just don't always play up to his potential. Needs to play 100% for a full 60 and he will be fine. IMO

Are you serious???? You seem to be rewriting history..
Dwight King played on the top 2 lines for a majority of the regular season... his last game up on the top 6 was against the Penguins at the end of Jan... He eventually got demoted for good to the 3rd line against Philly in the next game... Prior to that he played on the 2nd line with Carter and Richards.. and on the 1st line with Kopitar & Williams/Carter.... (and of those games he started a handful on the third line but ended up in the top 6 as the games progressed)..

I didn't rewrite history at all. I said he is an ideal 3rd line player, I didn't say he WAS a 3rd line player. I don't agree with him being in the top 6 unless there is injury troubles, in which case it is acceptable.

He's an ideal bottom line player. Size, decent production, good defensively. Plus he'll be cheap.

Also, as you state his last game in the top 6 was January 30th. In the final 21 games he had 7 points. Which is on pace for 26-28 points. That's a 26-28 point average from the bottom lines. Ideal.

I think people wanted him to be a replacement for Brown when he was struggling. Which didn't make sense to me, everyone raved about King and his 15 goals and everyone screamed about Brown.... and his 15 goals. Obviously Brown was not having a good year, but it's not as if King was putting up big numbers. King is what he is, a good 3rd liner.

Clifford is O.K. with me but I always seem to think he has more than just being a checking forward. He's got a decent shot actually, he could net 20 goals easy if he wasn't so focused on taking the body on every shift. I'd say a C minus this year on that fact alone. Maybe this year he can breakout and have better scoring this season.
