I posted this in both the Sabres' and Predators' blogs:

If the Sabres get 2 picks in the top 5 next year, with one of them being #1, do you trade the #1 and Myers to Nashville for Weber?

So far, not many responses. One in the Preds and two in the Sabres. All three said no.


If Myers make big progress next year, I would side with the Sabres not making that deal.

until Vinny is gone, it's up too the coach to adapt his system to the players they have! If Berube can't do that, then get rid of him as head coach. This isn't the first rodeo for a coach to try and get the flyers players to be better at skating, where are they now? A big stink is being made about Vinny but others must be an isuse to because those coaches are gone

We keep harping on our players to be better skaters. When does it get to the point where we realize they just cant skate any better? These arent kids with growing pains they are professionals and this is as fast as they will ever be. I dont know about you but I was a hell of a lot faster when I was in high school compared to now. 28 years old and I am in good shape also.

Yes and no. Unnecessary mass also can impact that. I see Vinny as the perfect example. Given his age, height and frame...he would be better served to drop 10 pounds and that has nothing to do with having a bad BMI. When he was in his 20's he could pull it off....and the game was also slower then. Today...cut the mass and I bet we see a quicker Vinny.

They need to give Schenn some tougher minutes next year. I would rather see how he handles things than throw Amac into that position.

This is assuming the team cuts back on Timonen's tough minutes.

Agreed. The way Timonen looked at the end of last year, I would hope that they plan on cutting back on his minutes especially earlier in the season. I just hope Luke is capable of playing with more consistency because he hasn't showed it thus far in his career.

Young pros often go to summer skating camp and work with power skating coaches. There's a lot of talk about Barbara Underhill improving the skating of guys who are established pros.
