You think Lehner gets $2.5 mill per, this seems about right.. Maybe over 3 years. I think that still keeps him at RFA if the deals 3 or under. (Bridge Contract) |

Lmao.... yup
And people still believe that Murray "knows how to build a team"
Nope... he just signs whoever is willing to play for cheap
Just to kind of recap:
Turris is a 1LC but the team would ideally prefer him at 2LC, where we think Zibanejad is, whom the team wants ideally at 1LC, but Legwand is signed possibly to be the 2LC. And Zack Smith already plays 15+ TOI a night between EV and PK. - Travis Yost

When you have an internal budget as low as ours, there's not always much of a difference. |

I'm really hoping Alex Chaisson can improve on his 13G 22A in 79 games he had last season with the stars.. 20 G 30A would be really nice
I can see him playing well on Zibanejad's RW on the 2nd or 3rd line. |

I kinda feel pegging Zib as a First line C is a little presumptuous. While he's still very young,. Right now we need him to start playing as a 2nd Line center before we talk about him playing on the first line. I know the talk is down the road, but still.
He should spend the whole season on teh 2nd line. It makes the Legwand signing a little wierd, unless they did it to make him fight for his spot.

There has to be a trade or two in the works. You cannot have this many players and prospects hoarded in a team. Rice's lineup was very well-constructed but do you really think our present A's won't be playing; albeit they might take those accolades away from them. Instead of having players like Greening, Phillips, and Neil scratched we got to trade them away for picks. We got players in the system who can be called up if any injuries happens; Grant, Pageau, Puempel. All of these guys are aching to make an impact to make the team. Either that or trade the prospects for a better package. - TheCalSen
Maybe a Smith trade coming, he's definatly a player a lot of teams would want. Not that the return would be all that special, but they could trade him if they wanted to free up space.

Zib

See teams are trying to roll four solid, productive lines. Maybe 5 on 5 you end up with a balanced distribution of ice time. Special teams will separate those with 18 minutes and the guy who gets 12. |

I think the Sens are in a position to trade a young Center. Be it Z.Smith/ Pageau / Grant/ Hoffman. I believe all these guys could play in the NHL as early as next year, on a team that has room for them. I can't see us trading Lazar unless he's involved in a Bobby Ryan type blockbuster trade..
We've already lost Da Costa to the KHL.. I don't want to see anymore potential NHL talent be washed down the drain.
Hey Travis, or anyone else, if Da Costa has a really good season in the KHL & wants to return to the NHL is he still property of the Sens ? Or is he a UFA ?? |

RFA for the sens.
Pageau and Grant make no sense to trade, they have no value to other organizations until they prove themselves NHL players. No point trading prospects for scraps.
And Da Costa has proven beyond a doubt IMO that he is not an NHL player on any but a bad team. |

Good to know Da Costa would stay property of the Sens.. I can't see him having a good career in the NHL at this point anyways. He did just turn 25 last week.
Maybe we could package them with a proven player like say Zack Smith, Pageau ,Grant & Dallas' 2nd round 2015 for a proven top 6 forward. That's arguably a better package then we got back for Spezza.
I know thiers 3 centers in that package but... the Sens are higher on Lazar & Hoffman anyways.
Just a thought during the dog days of summer..
Hey Tommy, Some (frank)ed up weather we've been having here in N.B this summer eh.. My power was out for a week! & again yesterday for 12 hours here in Fredericton. NB Power needs to get their poop together. |

a number 1 or 2 winger that's a former center on the wall that likes to bang is more valuable that a center that struggles on the dot.

Yeah that's not a bad package, would rather keep Grant though in that deal.
I also think Hoffman is actually a LW, listed as a center often but hasn't ever played C professionally.
That hurricane was wild, but thankfully I never got hit too bad - and power wise, I wouldn't have had to deal with NB power since SJ has it's own power ultility in Saint John energy who can just focus on Saint John's outages. Heard Freddy was nearly destroyed though, my bff is up there doing a residency at the hospital.

I see your point, but a team that isn't in win-now mode isn't going to want to sabotage a 20 year old's development by shifting him to wing when they're hoping to get a #1 center out of him eventually.
The hope is that he will be working on his scoring and faceoffs and be able to put up better numbers with more ice. That won't happen if Legwand gets all the ice time.
Lineup will probably look like:
MacArthur-Turris-Ryan
Hoffman-Zibanejad-Chiasson
Michalek-Legwand-Stone
Neil/Greening-Smith-Condra
With lines 2 and 3 seeing about the same amount of ice. |

Chiasson should not be starting on the third line. He may slide down there, but as of now they need to give him top six minutes and see what he can do. |
