What I mean is what does it give you more credibility in? Sure, you get more bragging rights. Sure, you can use that to your advantage in signing players and being a desireable place to play. But I don't see how that adds credibility... unless you're using that word incorrectly. |

First of all, they're the highest valued, not necessarily the richest. There could be ownership groups with more money who's teams just aren't worth as much.
More importantly, how is that anything to brag about? The whole point of money is to be able to acquire things. In the case of an NHL team, those would be a competitive team, and championships. Bragging about them having the most money to throw around is basically just a highlight of how poorly they're being run. It's like someone having $500,000 to spend on a car and they somehow blow it all on a Ford Focus. |
