The thing about offer sheets is they have to be an amount that a team won't match. To do that with Krieder it will cost a first. We offer 4.3 million a year, NY just matches and thanks buffalo for negating the contract for them.

Offer sheets - while well within any general manager's rights - are dirty pool, imo.

I think they do more harm than good. You will never do business with the Rangers, count on that, if you do this.

If it's going to cost us a 2nd & 3rd, or whatever, why not just offer that to the Rangers for him?

I doubt that the Rangers would accept that deal. They probably value him more than just a second and third. I don't think we should start jumping on the offer sheet wagon though. The only thing we should look at is AHL depth and a serviceable NHL defenseman.
