I doubt that the Rangers would accept that deal. They probably value him more than just a second and third. I don't think we should start jumping on the offer sheet wagon though. The only thing we should look at is AHL depth and a serviceable NHL defenseman. - thatsapickle
I gotta believe that they are going to bring in another guy. |

I'm thinking so as well. The feeling I'm getting from Murray is that he wants his young guys to dominate together so they have that experience of winning together. Obviously you can't put Girgensons in the A, but you can put Risto and Pysyk down there to sure up the back end and tell them to win there. Then when the team is ready to be competitive in 15-16-17 they will know what it takes to win and not want to accept losing.
I know it's a different position, but you look at what Anaheim has done with their Forwards in Etem, Smith-Pelley, and Rakell (hell they did it to Vantanen on D) to make them hungry. Make them want to be in the big show and prove they are worth it. You have to dominate at every level to be successful in the big club. |

If Pysyk and Ristolainen both start in the AHL, they may need to sign two guys then.
I think at least one of them starts here.
I get the "keep em all down for another year, two, whatever, and let them learn how to win", but you can't just bring them all up at the same time and expect results. You can't throw 8 rookies into the lineup next year or the year after and just say, "okay guys, now go win". It has to be staggered, and it has to be intentional and calculated in order to maximize results, imo.
Again, just my opinion, but I think Pysyk is an NHL defenseman at this point. He has NHL skating, passing, smarts, etc. Just needs to keep adding a bit of muscle every year. I think a guy like Gorges is going to help both Pysyk and Myers big time. Maybe even Weber |

Pysyk is here full time IMO. I'm leaning towards both of them staying but who knows. |

I think you're right that Pysyk could likely be here. I also think that if he did make the transition back to the A, him coming back up wouldn't be in a rookie status. I think it would be more of a hunger to be back rather than throwing rookies into the fire.
That's just my opinion. I think that he and Risto know what it takes to play in the NHL, but I don't know if it helps them to be losing. The team will at least seem more competitive, so that could be equally if not better for them. |

Both of them seem like highly intelligent players.
I can't wait until this defense is 2-3 years down the line. I like the building TM is doing with the forwards, but this defense - as it stands, because who knows who gets dealt, or whatever - has me pumped. It's poised to be one of the best in the league. |

One of the few things Darcy can some how get credit for. I'm sure it was mostly Devine, but nevertheless under his watch, we have some solid defensemen. |

Agree.
Darcy certainly had some colossal first round misses, especially earlier in his GM career, but he (they) seem to have made up for it with some pretty decent drafting the last few years. |

I think after this year, we will see the team that we have all wanted for a long time. |

This.
Next year Reinhart starts in the A along with Lemiuex...build a winning tradition in the development league...a right of passage.
Then we enjoy the fruits of their labor in the N |

Lemieux will be too young for the A next year. Reinhart has an early November birthday, so he'll be 20. He should be able to start in Rochester (if he's not up here already):
Players drafted and playing for CHL teams are ineligible to play in the professional minor leagues (AHL, ECHL) until they are 20 years old (by December 31st of that year) or have completed four years in major juniors.
I'm thinking Reinhart falls into this category, yes?

Yes. Reinhart only has 1 yr left of Jr before he can go to the A. I don't know that they would do that with him though. I guess it'll depend on what they do with him this year. |

Good reason why myself and others have said it will be 3-4 years before they make a difference. |

This sounds like much ado about nothing...kind of like they tried to get Phil Mickelson on "insider trading" when there was absolutely nothing there. |

Its still another "thing" in a list of events that have happened since his departure.
Anyhow everyone rank you're confindence in EJ Manuel on a scale of 1-10. 10 being highest. GO. |
