Yeah, I wouldn't really look to Giroux as a paragon among backchecking centers. - BulliesPhan87
Be careful. I made the mistake of saying this before and the hair on my ass is JUST finally growing back. |

Are we still beating the Crosby dead horse? What's worth arguing over anymore? He's won a cup and two golds, won the Art Ross a bajillion times, and is the most dominate player in the game today. Yes, he can be a whiny immature jerk and I hate him just as much as everyone, but there's no questioning he's the greatest talent of this generation, and no one is going to buy into "Crosby is overrated," because he's not at all.
Also, he's 26. Get used to hearing his name in the scoreboard. |

Thats exactly how I see it as well..
Also, I hate the people just assume because a guy is a 3rd line center he will be stuck in a strictly defensive role. - jak521
Yeah, that kind of mentality annoys me as well.

He's a Center. I envision the lineup of the future as having the 1-2-3 punch of Giroux, Couturier, and Laughton down the midle of the lineup. And having the center position as a team strength. - MJL
Sure. At the same time it seems like the club is struggling with whether or not to have Schenn at center or wing. An argument that I feel should have been put to rest even when Danny Briere was still here. It hasn't been much of a question for me but fans and management still seem to be struggling with this. This argument pushes Laughton back. |

Agreed except that 2 /= "a bajillion."
Well, maybe in Texas, or Russia. |

I don't even think there have been a bajillion Art Ross trophies awarded. At least I am pretty sure, I'm really just guessing on that point.

I dont buy into the whole, if he is gonna be a center, play him ONLY at center (vice versa wing) .
If he can play wing.. play him at wing. If he can play center, play him at center. Before the problem was more about managing ice time. Not put guys in a spot that they cannot handle.
I see Schenn playing 70/30 wing/center this season. I am totally fine with that. |

Ive always felt that Schenn's game is better suited to wing.

Well, we have to define a bajillion. Since it's not a real number (yet), we have to use it as an independent reference within every category where its value is dynamic. So, if we want to use the highest number, let's go with 10 (the highest number won by any player). |

I really dont notice too much of a difference. I think he can produce (and at a decent clip) pretty much any where.
I would just like to see some consistency with line mates. |

No there isn't. So I kind of laugh when those who say he is "much better" as a center.
My point is that I think when he comes in to his own, in order to reach his highest potential, the type of game he plays is better suited to wing.

Welllll.. since you were so vague.. There are lots of Cups that will be won before the NHL season starts back up. Therefor, it is completely unpossible for the FLYERS TO WIN THE NEXT 80 CUPS. |

But how do you know the Flyers will not win the next 80? Maybe they go to Great Adventure today and play games against only each other and win 80 cups before anyone else.
HOW DO YOU KNOW!?!?!?!? |
