No there isn't. So I kind of laugh when those who say he is "much better" as a center.
My point is that I think when he comes in to his own, in order to reach his highest potential, the type of game he plays is better suited to wing. - MBFlyerfan
I tend to agree, but I also think (strictly from a team standpoint) that he is best suited at winger as well. Like MJL pointed out, if over the next few seasons the Flyers end up looking like G,Couts,Laughton.. they have a VERY good group down the middle. Schenner looks destined for the wing. |

Thing is, a player can't really grow if he is constantly flipped between center and wing. A player needs to learn to get comfortable in his position, and switching a center to wing just because we need a wing isn't going to make him a good winger right away.
My point is, a lot of people complain that Schenn hasn't impressed anyone yet, and that may be because we keep putting him everywhere. It might actually be more beneficial for him if we leave him as the 2c and let him grow in his natural position. |

Are we still beating the Crosby dead horse? What's worth arguing over anymore? He's won a cup and two golds, won the Art Ross a bajillion times, and is the most dominate player in the game today. Yes, he can be a whiny immature jerk and I hate him just as much as everyone, but there's no questioning he's the greatest talent of this generation, and no one is going to buy into "Crosby is overrated," because he's not at all.
Also, he's 26. Get used to hearing his name in the scoreboard. - Litepow
See, that's where I disagree. If we're talking forwards, I wouldn't argue. But it chaps me when people try to say he's the best player in the league, and things like that. Ok, if he was the best talent/player in the game, you should be able to throw him in the goal and he'd win the Vezina, right? If he was the best player in the league, you could throw him on defense and he'd win the Norris. Is that going to happen? No.
Best FORWARD in the league? Sure, that's a valid argument. Best player in the league? Sure, at what he does and the position he plays.... but blanket statements like the aforementioned are what I find ridiculous.
But I'll never say he's overrated. I hate him... right on a level with Subban.. but he isn't overrated, and he is arguably the best forward in the league now, and for awhile. |

Small problem.. he doesnt seem to project to be our 2nd line center. Couts does. So, if he needs to be placed in on position, let it be wing. |

Wherever they use him, give him good linemates and keep him there.
I think he's capable of playing center or wing equally. He has some traits that are better served at center and others that lend themselves more to being a winger. |

Thats the craziest part... - jak521
Crosby's going to hit 800 pts just after his 27th bday.
OV's might surpass 500G before his 30th bday.
Stamkos has averaged 40G/year in his first 6-seasons.
Erik Karlsson almost has 250 pts at the age of 24 as a dman.
I don't think we fully appreciate the players of today as much as we ought to. |

That and his linemates. I'd like to see him get to play with a guy like Giroux or Voracek for an extended period. Not a knock on Simmonds, but a guy who is more dynamic as a playmaker might really benefit Schenn. |

Its not really a blanket statement. His affect on his team, in the game, and in the league in general makes him the best. He is a generational impact player.

I think they need to give him a more expanded role this year... and I dont mean playing all over the line up.
If he is gonna be a winger, put him on G's left wing and keep him there. Give him more responsibility on the PP and some PK time even. I wanna see what he really has in him. |

I was thinking the other day, will we ever have another "legendary" player? Now that we have so much access to these guys, will we ever be in awe of a player again? I mean, people talk about Orr, Gretzky, and Lemieux as mythical figures. Same with guys like Babe Ruth, Dan Marino, Michael Jordan, Mickey Mantle, Joe Montana, etc. But now that we can all see these players easily whenever we want, I think it will somewhat diminish the aura around them. |

Agreed. No more sheltered use and depth PP guy, get him out there more and let him play a ton of minutes. |

If I had to pick one player to start a team with, it would be him.
Basically, fill in the blank:
"Were I his GM, the one player that I would trade Sidney Crosby for is ______________." |

Actually, since it's Hextall, I actually see him smashing the bottle and holding the jagged half bottle to the other GM's throat if he doesn't go along with the trade. |

Thanks. I mean, you cannot like him all you want. But when it comes down to it, he's simply the best player in the game right now. |
