If you had to watch (and thankfully there's no recorded video for quite a lot of it) every loss the phillies ever endured, once a day... you'd spend something approaching 30 years doing it. And you'd never ever see a single win in those 30 years. Thats how many games the Phillies have lost over the years.

Both failures when it comes down to it.. lol

However, I give Holmgren credit for getting the team younger in many aspects, and actually looked like he tried to improve the team. Amaro trades for more 38 year old guys, re-signs all of his washed up guys, and then rips all of his critics saying he knows what he's doing..... etc. It's almost like, looking from the outside, Amaro is trying to lose and sink the organization. At least it looked like Holmgren was trying to help the team, but was just a bit incompetent at doing so..

I don't mean Holmgren was a complete failure. Amaro is a complete failure.. I just meant that Holmgren failed to put a cup winning team on the ice. Which is difficult to do, and even harder when yes, he inherited Clarke's mess.

The point was that a guy said that trading B Schenn would be a long-term mistake. I disagree, depending on the return. Whether or not some team would present a trade is a different story. To me, anyone in the NHL except for Crosby and Stamkos are available for the right price.

Holmgren undeniably did better. His team improved during his tenure (obvs there were mistakes and failures too), while Amaro's Phillies steadily declined from the Championship quality he inherited.
