Although I grew up with Dead Heads (major East Coast tapers), I was never into them. I've listened to Boneyard (before it became associated with Ozzy) a few times. That and one other station (maybe Lithium) are basically all I can do. Oh, and Hair Nation is total hit-or-miss. - jmatchett383
I actually think the Boneyard has improved since the Ozzy branding. Less Kiss and Def Leppard is a big jump in quality. |

I don't know if anyone read the plan the organization has for Scott Laughton on the Flyers web site but he won't be making the team unless he is able to get into the top nine. It was admitted that they do not want him in a fouth line role, he will not play wing and as it stands the only way he makes the team is due to injury or a trade is finalized to create room for him. - SuperSchennBros
Fair enough. No young player should have a spot to lose in camp unless they're a can't-miss Tavares-type or better. If he really wants to make the team, then he needs to earn it in camp and make it impossible to send him to the AHL. |

I only saw from the corner of my eye but Cody Franson I believe resigns with the Leafs for 3.3 million, avoiding arbitration. |

I saw Lemieux do it. He'd just take the puck and, if he REALLY wanted to score, there was no way to stop him. He was too big and strong to take off the puck, and he was such a great puckhandler that you could knock it away.
I'd also say that Orr was probably the only other player who would just play on a different plane that everyone else. - jmatchett383
None of those players as great as they were..... are as proficient at every facet of the game. Lindros could literally do it ALL. Skate, Shoot, Pass, Check, Fight, Faceoffs, Defense was above average as well. Except play goaltender. |

I completely agree with this... Guy talks like his opinion is fact, and never gives hockey respect, but thinks the 76ers are the pride and joy of the city/state. - WarriorHockey21
used to love when he said there are only 17,000 hockey fans in the Philly area...hell there are 17,000 flyer fans in SoFl |

Clarke, Lindros and Hexy were my 3 favorite flyers - vejim
well that naturally leads to.....my top ten favorite Flyers of all time!!
1. Bernie Parent
I had the poster on my wall along with the Only the Lord saves more than Parent bumper sticker on my notebook! He was my first sports idol and for 2 seasons, perhaps the best goalie of all time.
2. Tim Kerr
Wore his jersey throughout the 80s and 90s, loved his stoic style and lightning quick wrists.
3. Mark Howe
Watching him play was a treat. If you want to learn how to play hockey the right way, just watch film of Mark Howe. Yeah, he was that damn good!
4. Bobby Clarke
He'll always be Bobby to me! Hands down, the hardest working athlete I have ever witnessed in any sport. Clarke would do anything to win a game. He truly bled orange and black.
5. Paul Holmgren
Great combo of skill, grit and unbelievable toughness. His stare is still frightening!
6. Rick Macleish
Had one of the smoothest strides and best wrist shots of all time. Saved his best for the biggest games.
7. Bill Barber
A great all around player, the best LW of his era. Could also dive with the best of them too, LOL
8. Ron Hextall
Maybe the only other Flyer in history who wanted to win as bad as Clarke. I still hear his stick ringing off the post and crossbar. Watching him score a goal live is one of my fondest Flyers memories.
9. Dave Poulin
Look up class in the dictionary and you will see Poulin's picture. Trading him to Boston for Linseman may have been, along with sending McCrimmon to Calgary, Clarke's worst move as a GM.
10. Sean Couturier
Yeah, he hasn't been here long, but I just love watching this kid play. I can almost guarantee that he's gonna win a Selke trophy or 2 before his career is over.
Just missed the cut:
Bob Kelly
Jimmy Watson
Pelle Lindbergh
Rick Tocchet
Eric Lindros
John Leclair
Eric Desjardins
Kimmo Timonen

You know, it doesn't really seem that much better. I don't like Stern, and it seems like there's about 4 good rock stations that play 1/4 good songs. How Social Distortion fits on "New Wave" and Jimmy Eat World fits of "Faction" is beyond me. - jmatchett383
I enjoy the NHL channel, and there's a variety of stuff. Of course I listen to all kinds of music anyhow, and I love the Old Time Radio channel.

Reverse the Kiss and DL (Guitar Hero made me like Strutter) for me, but I'd prefer to drop both. Agreed on the Motorhead and Maiden. I'd also prefer they play less live recordings. It's neat to hearrarely, but for a long time they'd only play the live version of Number of the Beast, and it was such a letdown. While it may have been a great show in person, it was clearly the last song of the night, so Bruce's vocals were pretty much shot.

The thing with Lindros was that he was nasty and dirty in how he hit. He had no problem hitting you high or giving you a forearm shiver to the face.
In today's game, he'd spend half of each game in the box. - jmatchett383
True, though with the rules against interference and holding guys up being enforced, he might well be unstoppable when he is on the ice. |

NHL Channel is the only sports channel I've ever intentionally tuned into for anything other than a game broadcast. As for old timey stuff, I'm glad they got rid of the Billy Joel channel and gave me back my 40's on 4. |

I saw them say something like that, that he'd have to earn a spot, and wouldn't be handed a job on the Flyers & I agree with it 100%.
If he's playing 4 th line & getting 8 minutes a night, I'd rather him play in the AHL, getting 20 minutes a night under a good teaching coach like Murray |

Hmm, I "think" I read that as being Jay Greenberg's opinion on what the Flyers will do over anything said by Hextall or Pryor.
Personally I have no problem with Laughton earning a spot as the 4th line center. They will find him minutes if he earns them, 4th liner or not.

Forsberg was great, no doubt. Just not a Lindros. IMO. Forsberg also had the luxury of playing behind Sakic almost his whole career. Lindros also was much bigger, stronger and could score more goals. |

In todays NHL he would be even more dominant. How would you stop him if you cant hold onto him?? |
