What is a GM of a minor league team responsible for? He's not making the personnel decisions as to what players are on the team right? He gets whoever the organization has drafted or unsigned free agents/scrap heap players. I would guess he has some input into those lower level personnel decisions?

I am guessing there is some work with sponsors/community and such.

It's no different then everyone arguing whether or not Lecavalier is good enough to play in our top nine, if Hartnell's physical play is in decline or whether or not Ott would be a good fit here at the right price. All debatable but everyone gets up in arms if you don't stand on the same side of the line.
