i watched the espn broadcast live as well, in fact, i still have my vhs recording.

i was only able to see the prism feed years later with the internet and the espn classic broadcasts.

Yup, it was also like that against the Soviets in 76, the place erupted when the Flyers got the first goal. It was awesome!

In the same vein as "back to the studio" vs. broadcast team at intermissions, I largely dislike playoff hockey being covered by national commentators. Imagine Gene Hart not making the TV call for Game 6 versus Boston, so that every tape/DVD/etc. of it had some random national guy.
