I believe you can release a player, but you'd still be on hook to pay the entire contract, so why bother? Heck, better to trade him and eat 80-90% of the $$. For under 5 mil per year, maybe someone takes a chance on him?

I think they can platoon him with Ruf. It's not like he's blocking some great prospect right now. If Franco proves to be good enough, then I would be fine releasing him.

Uggla just got released from the Braves. They still owed him a poopload of money. Uggla was having a horrific year though and La Stella looks like he's nailed down the 2b spot for now and the future of the braves.

First off, Melrose has no clue.

More importantly though I see it as hypocritical. Like if your brother hates your favorite band and then all of a sudden puts them on in the car. Like go (frank) yourself stop catering to people. If you're not gonna cover hockey, don't cover it. These 2 minute segments every week and then highlights of the playoffs just piss me off.

I could care less about their hockey coverage. That said, Melrose did a Union vs. BC game in Ghost's sophmore year. The amount of gushing he was doing over Ghost and Gaudreau put Pierre's Crosby crush to shame. It was actually kinda nice having it happen to one of our guys as well as a local product.

I agree. The sad part is they waste so much time during the show on meaningless things.

I'm a big basketball and football fan and they don't even cover those sports well. They have dumbass people breaking down the games and show very few highlights.

It's become a talk show of people who don't know what they're talking about.
