I think they have a much higher standard of what they're willing to report, that makes them far more accurate sources for what will actually happen.

I am not sure what everyone else's expectations are for this website and I have no idea as to how accurate the rumors that are being reported are or who broke what first. I really do not care because I look to the website as a source of enjoyment. A place to read other people's opinions about teams, players, and transactions that may or may not happen. There are too few people in Raleigh that talk about hockey year round, so I visit this site and others.

Question for the Flyers fans.... whats it like having EK put you in rumors for higher priced talent... while still a decent chunk over the cap space and really no chance to be involved in any rumors?

I don't come to this site for the " rumours" as I am sure most people don't. It's a great site to just talk hockey ( and sometimes other things) with fans of your specific team and others. The rumours are just put out there to create talk.

Here is how I see it. He has a number of sources, where he gets information from. And he reports the "noise". I have no doubt that he's not making these rumors up. Teams talk to each other about a lot of things. The percentage of what actually happens is very low. Which is why the overwhelming majority of rumors don't come to fruition. What amazes me is that the guy has created a website and is probably making a very good living off of it, and a lot of people including you and I, are part of that. But he's called an idiot!

Very well said... But, I'd like to add that Ek is from Philly. So, it reasons that many of his sources are probably Flyers people. Hence a greater number of Flyers rumors. If he was living in another city, you'd probably see more rumors from that city. Ek catches a lot of heat for linking the Flyers to a trade - regardless of whether if make sense or not. The Flyers are probably linked to most trades (along with most other GM / Team) to some degree to trades. Ek doesn't normally state the involvement (just kicking tires or serious).
