A horrible, overpaid defenseman who wouldn't even crack out lineup, a horrible forward who maybe would fit on our 4th line, and a 7th for a 5th? Aside from the fact that it puts the Flyers way over the cap, not a chance in hell.

Thanks for posting. It's what I expected in terms of how NHL teams are using analytics. I think it's great. I brought it up a number of times how Roger Neilsen incorporated video to come up with an improved +/- statistic. And I speculated that teams were doing the same with Corsi and other analytics. And really just further reinforces my beliefs on Corsi and the issues with it. And that NHL teams are also aware of the false data issue. Unfortunately, websites dealing with these statistics, don't have the resources available to them to do the same for every team.

One can only hope! I can't stand that arrogant, pompous windbag.

Here is how I see it. He has a number of sources, where he gets information from. And he reports the "noise". I have no doubt that he's not making these rumors up. Teams talk to each other about a lot of things. The percentage of what actually happens is very low. Which is why the overwhelming majority of rumors don't come to fruition. What amazes me is that the guy has created a website and is probably making a very good living off of it, and a lot of people including you and I, are part of that. But he's called an idiot!

Eklund to me is a self made weather man. It's not easy to predict what's going to happen but he's not always off the mark. Timonen coming here I believe 8 years ago now (correct me I'm wrong), he speculated on that along time. We didn't know Hartnell would end up coming with him. Now in his case, to keep the site going he has to talk about something daily.
