Brodeur had more wins in less starts than Schneider
Development of Henrique? If anything, Henrique has only regressed and developed laterally since his rookie season. Cammy and Havlat are washed up and only older just like your 42 year old leading scorer Jagr. Having 3 young defensemen in the lineup is good for your future but will leave it porous and suspect to inexperienced mistakes all year long.
Goals will still be very hard to come by for you guys. - rangerdanger94
So a guy who was one of the best 5v5 scorers in the league last year who was on pace for thirty goals is washed up at 32 and henriques career high 25 goals is huge regression ? Where are you pulling your info from? Jagr likely wont hit as many points but he also won't have to and Elias is Elias I think he slows down but he will still hit 60 points and can likely hit 70 if he has a good year. I wouldn't bank on havlat having a great year but I could see him having a better one now that he is back in the east with less travel and less physical teams should help him stay healthy but that is more a hope like I said but going from one of the slowest teams in the league last year and removing volchenkov and adding havlat and cammy instantly make us a faster team then we where last year which should go a way |

I just don't see it but time will tell. There's a reason they play the regular season
You guys have Cory and IMO the best or 2nd best coach in the entire division so it's possible just not a lock and won't happen IN MY OPINION. |

Pens first, Columbus second, a dog fight between NYR/PHI/NJ for 3rd, Caps, Isles, Canes. |

We are all forgetting this is the mcdavid draft. My prediction is the pens finish 30th lol Crosby's neck injury miraculously comes back forces him to sit out this season |

No, the pens could win the cup and still get awarded the first overall pick to use on McDavid |

The Metro division is going to be fun to watch bc the Elite teams took a slight hit and the weaker teams got a little stronger. So I believe it will be a tight race for the wildcard for sure.
Lets hurry and drop the puck already & find out!!!! |

I think a lot of the Flyers success will hinge on whether their young players continue to improve.
It the Schenn brothers both improve, Couturier continues to get better, Voracek continues to get better, and with Giroux entering his prime years, they could be an improved team. Add to that Matt Read and Wayne Simmonds continuing to reach their potential and they may very well be better as a team.
Of course there are always questions on their defense, they don't have that #1 stud, but all of their defensemen are legitimate NHL caliber players.
If Steve Mason continues to play well, and the forwards make a commitment to playing a 200 foot game, I think they are a playoff team.

Seems to be too much credit for Columbus based on their 1st round showing last year.
Their 1st line center is still Dubinsky, right?

You didn't specify, so in general roster terms, he is their #1 centre. He will sign soon enough. |

Yea im not sold on Columbus yet either. It will be interesting because I think any team is capable of making the playoffs in this division. |

Pittsburgh
Columbus
NY Rangers
NJ Devils
NY Islanders
Flyers
Caps
Canes
and that isnt a shot at the Caps or Canes because they will both be very decent... tough to pick this division.
Penguins have a new coach to adjust to not to mention some injuries to a couple of their guys early on... if there is a time for another team like the Rangers or Blue Jackets to get ahead of Pitt, it is the first 2 months of the season. if the penguins go into christmas with the division lead by a few points, i think the division is over. depends how pitt treats the regular season... in years past they played hard and ran away with the division. curious to see how johnston handles it. |

If tavares is back to pre-injury form, the isles will be in the thick of things. If Horton can make it through the season, Columbus will continue their improvement. And of course if New Jersey could win a shootout, they have a chance to get in.
My prediction is 1. Pitt 2. CBJ 3. NYR with Philly earning the first wild card and NYI fighting with Detroit for the second wild card. |

This. I love when peoples predictions get shat on for being a little risky and not being boring AF. I'd love to see everybody's predictions from last season and see how DEAD WRONG 99% of them are? - rangerdanger94
Ok, but you don't have to freak out. You can make predictions, and people can debunk them. No problems, particularly when people defend what they say. |

Isles way too low. And Philly way too high. Halak > Mason, Isles D > Flyers D, Isles O and Flyers 0 are close, especially after Hartnell for Umberger (another atrocious trade from the Flyers). |

i think bobrovsky is the main factor to the blue jackets having a good season if he plays like he did 2 years ago they could win the division |

I can agree Columbus will be better but they still lack scoring talent and depth. |
