that series was completely insane.

aside from all the wild scores, i distinctly remember just how intense and hard the hitting was right from the get-go

night and day compared to the rangers series this year...or even the devils series after disposing of the pens. just not the same level of hate

sure it was a small sample size, but he was pretty damn good in the half-season after the lockout too

They did a good job down the stretch, although they struggled a bit in the playoffs. It would be great if they can form a really solid second pair. Hell, I'd be happy with them being a reliable pair who can play 15-20 minutes a night at this point, regardless of numbering them.

He's a 29 year old guy who has had a decent amount of success and has been a good player in the higher levels of European Elite leagues. He's very likely to be a capable third liner in the NHL.

I'd rather have a guy who has shown he can play at a decent level than the same old, same old limited goons and guys who can't play

I'm sure nobody twisted Dopita's arm. I'm sure he was happy to be here until he became a full time bottom six player, after being something special over seas. If he came here simply because Roman Ceckmanek was lonely, that's stupid.

He came because the Flyers could pay him more here than he was getting in the Czech leagues. Prior to that he never had the least interest in coming over .Being friends with Cechmanek was a selling point, but Dopita had been approached several times prior to joining the Flyers.

As Bill wrote in about Bellemare, he was going to join the Blackhawks prior to getting injured after a head shot. He knows he's getting a shot to be a depth guy, not expecting to be handed a top line role.
