Close, she can find the next Tom Gorence blind folded by the sound of the wrist shot hitting the post...Or the next Shjon Podein by the sound of the puck hitting the goalie in the logo - Jsaquella

If the Leafs had a number one center, they could be dangerous.
EDIT: OK and a good coach |

For 1 yr too.
That is a nice deal for the Leafies.
The depth forwards did not get paid like bottom six defenseman this offseason. |

Usually they don't...you might see one or two sign bigger deals, but generally you can wait and find quality later in the summer in terms of depth forwards. |

Think the latter is the crux...
Kadri is talented enough to be a 1C... Gardiner and Rielly 1D... just gotta turn the thoroughbreds loose, instead of treating them like plow horses.
Kontiola and Komarov could pay big dividends, too... we'll see. |

Agreed. Offensive talent isn't the issue. Laviolette would have been a great hire for them as Head Coach |

Watching them in their dzone is just soul warmingly comical.
And that's coming from a flyers fan. I know comical dzone play when I see it.

I think it's extremely unlikely kadri and gardiner develop into those types of players |

Put Kadri in between Benn and Nichushkin, in a system predicated on handling the puck, and I wager that you'd see Seguin-like production out of him. |

Gardiner is Mike Green lite, at best. Very good, but far from a 1D. |

I disagree with that. He can score but I don't think he'll ever be a true #1C. There is a reason the Leafs fans seem to want to include him in any and every trade scenario. I'm not saying those fans are geniuses but they have seen him play quite a bit |

So, he's basically B. Schenn, more or less? |
