True, but beginning of the season is the worst time to move a D. - jmatchett383
I know. I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the makeup of this current roster. They've put themselves in a difficult position with the contracts they've given out. Certain guys may be harder to move than people think |

I think any one of our defensemen could be moved, we just may not get a solid return. Grossmann could be moved, but his TDL return would be a lot better than his opening night return. |

Have you ever thought about auditioning for the SJ Sharks blogger for this site? That way you could focus more on the annual playoff collapse after a year of fawning over them instead of just dumping on the Flyers constantly.

Coburn would be easy to move. I worry about some of the others. |

Grossmann could be moved, at 3.5 his cap it is reasonable and there are always teams looking to add size, snarl and solid pk ability on D. You may not get a whole lot for him, but you'd have no prob moving him. |

The opposite is true, Schenn has played quite a bit at wing in the NHL. You seem to be saying that it's no doubt that Laughton will be a better defensive center. I'm saying that he's played 5 games and it's not certain he will.
- Jsaquella
That's not what he's saying at all, or he wouldn't have posted if Laughton proves to be the better defensive center. I think what he's trying to say basically is Laughton might wind up having the better all around game more suited to a center role on the 3rd line. With Couturier not being moved from center, the best spot for Schenn might be on the wing. |

The only potentially difficult position I see them being in is with Lecavalier. They would have no problem moving a defenseman if they needed to. |

Would like to see him on the roster even as winger which I believe he can play but no issues if it's in the AHL to start. - ob18
He played some wing when they double shifted him in the playoffs. Of course he played D too so that might be a good idea too on most nights. |

Not me when you factor in cost and stroke - Jsaquella
Stroke had identifiable reparable cause. He may have future injuries, but not from a hole in his heart that is repaired. That doesn't bother me as much as cost, although maybe you get a discount because people are afraid of what they don't understand. |

He even played some wing when they loaded up with a line using their best players in regular season games. |

With Winnik out of the pool, who is left to provide much needed grit to the lineup? I miss Talbot |

I get what he's trying to say, the first post he made suggested that it's pretty much a fait accompli that Laughton is a superior defensive player, and should not be considered for use at LW.
My point is both guys may well see time at wing, because of the glut of centers |

In combination, the AAV of his contract, combined with the stroke, in addition to his inconsistent play in his own end would keep me from being interested.
I fully realize that doctors say he's fine, heart wise, but the other factors combined with that make me leery |

I think so too. I agree with Jmatch, in that, it might be a little difficult in the beginning of the season.
Many of us believed we could move Mez as just a straight salary dump at the beginning of the year. Many of us thought we could move VL while taking on very little or no salary. Most of us thought we could move Hartnell without taking on much salary or paying any of his salary.
I dont know what offers Homer/Hexy got, but I think it's safe to say, many on here have overvalued our own players. |

He's used qualifiers such as might be, or if he proves to be. I think all he's simply saying is based on the player projections, and what kind of players they are described as. The best long term positions might be Laughton at Center and Schenn at Wing. That's all he's saying, and I agree with him. None of us truly know how it's going to work out, and he's just talking future projections, in the same way you're talking about the possibility of Laughton playing Wing.
