He did it before on a team that was far more offensively competent than the one is now. This team will still struggle to score goals, Stafford included. - buffalofan19
Sure, but mediocre players like Stafford will benefit from increased ice time.
He will play with Ennis and get top PP minutes
I'd be willing to bet money he scores 20+ |

I don't think the NDA is to not talk about your interest and that you're going to bid, but more because they're allowed to see the books now.
and 19 - I saw that article on Pegula's new business and the renting at the "M&T" tower. I'm not naive to think he's not bidding, just find it funny that AP is calling them the frontrunner when they've not said anything publicly. - stashu
Wasn't it the old HSBC tower? Still your point is well taken.
Pegula being a frontrunner is all speculation. He has the cash to do it. He has the ability to do it. And he has a lot of vested interest in doing it. I doubt it's "inside source" reporting as much as it is connecting the dots. |

True, but he scored 16 goals in 70 games on the most feeble scoring team in the NHL. Nowhere to go but up?? - stashu
Exactly. He's a 20 goal scorer. |

I just don't see anybody scoring at that pace right now. Perhaps Ennis, if he stays at center. |

He was on pace for 19 goals on a historically bad scoring team.
If he plays a full season (which is entirely possible he doesn't) I don't see how he doesn't at least hit his career average of 22 |

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets time on the 2nd PP unit though too, so you have to take that into account. He's willing to park himself in front of the net and take a beating, so he's gonna get some garbage type goals. I think 40 pts will be around what he gets. Hell, he had 22 this year alone on a team that couldn't score worth a damn and he was only 19 years old. - HonkFortheGoose
And only playing a tad over 15 mins a night with less than stellar offensive players. |

Yeah. I heard that too. Doesn't matter. I don't think they end up with it when all is said and done. According to the AP writer that broke the story last week, Pegula appears to be the current front runner. - HonkFortheGoose

What the entire Bills bidding process (for Bills fans) comes down to is the Toronto group.
1) Does the league want to be in Canada, at any price? They are reasons they might and reasons they might not.
2) Are the wilsons all about the cash? They might be they might not.
If the answer to either is no, then Toronto could put up 4 Billion and it wont matter. Then it boils down to which local or semi local rich guy is putting up roughly 1.2-1.4 Billion to own the Bills. |

Like I said, the Toronto group, or any other potential non-local buyer, is going to have a very difficult time getting it up there in the near future. Not only do they have to build a stadium, they also have to jump through an inordinate amount of hoops to get them out of Buffalo (hell, just Erie County for that matter) as well.
The only problem with this Rogers group is the stigma that's going to be attached to having your team owned by Jon Bon Jovi. |

AP isn't calling him the front runner, the guy that wrote the article said that he feels based on what he's been told that it's currently the case. It wasn't in the article he wrote, but he discussed it on WGR when they talked to him the day the article came out. |

AP = it's writers, so potato/potahto
5pm is the deadline today, it would be nice to hear how many qualifying bids were entered. |

Drew Stafford.
He has played in
513 of a possible 581 games or 88.3%
He avgerages
72.41 gp per year giving him 19.2 goals 22.9 assists for 42.1 points per year.
It wouldn't surprise me if he is the 20-25 on both this season. |

Does the league want to be in Canada? Yes.
Is it a viable option right now? Nope. They hate the sport.
Pegula has an infinite amount of money. All he has to do is keep selling of his land. It's why he's not worried about making money. He has a printing press all set up and ready to go at his command.
I really don't think the other groups have a chance. |

It won't hurt that it doesn't take a whole lot to be profitable in the NFL either. I don't think it takes much more revenue beyond the TV contract before the team makes money. |

Agreed. He IMO might not get us a 1st rounder back, however I would love to snag a good prospect for him if he turns out a good year |

You make a spot for him. He can take the place of probably 8 of our 12 forwards and be better than them at the start.

To add to this conversation, i think stafford has a great year and not because its his "contract year." I think he has really turned his game around and matured nicely under nolan. It seems that he is looked up to as a leader and he has accepted that fact this past year. He looks better defensively and i know he is not the power foward we all hoped for but looking past the potential he had, in his own right he isnt too bad in the corner and throwing his body once and a while. Im preparing myself for the backlash of this post.
on a side note, here is something to laugh at:
