Not sure if this was posted but Trottier was out as Exec Direc of Player Development with the Islanders in 2010:

Networking: Craig Patrick was GM at PITT when Trottier played there in the 90's.
@bnharrington: Re @tbnbucky story on Trottier: Brother Monty is #Sabres amateur scout. Nephew Jordy just signed FA contract with Elmira Jackals.

About as much as the next guy I suppose, mine is just more colorful. Much of what I wrote was fact based, now Nolan winning another Jack Adams? Possible if he sticks around with this prospect pool. Too much projection for ya, ref? - GilPerreault11
You're tearing into people who want to be positive about this team and making poop up "Cup in 2 years", "now they're good cuz of Nolan/Trottier", "Jack Adams award for Nolan"
I don't recall anyone saying anything close to this stuff, yet you feel it's necessary to pile on a person who, heaven forbid, thinks the team is improving.

That's your opinion.
I don't care who you may know or think you know.
Funny that where ever he goes, he wins!
I know "people" too, I just don't boast about it here.
I'll call him a spade when he deserves to be called spade.
Not until! - BuffaloHardHat
Not really. He has under a .500 record for his career. Take away last year with the Sabres, and he is pretty much just .500 |

Thanks for the info, Gil.
I did not know we had Monty. Sabres, by far, look like they have the largest scouting staff in the league.
Truce, please.

I am not impressed with the BT hire. People in charge who are not confident in themselves tend to hire people who they feel will not be able to compete for their own job.
I would be more impressed with a hire of some young, smart, up and comer rather than a never has been. |

Have you ever heard of being facetious? I didn't reply to the guy until he jumps all over me for not being a Teddy fan, nor am I a Teddy hater, just an observer. He is what he is, someone the owner wanted and i supported Homer by knowing some things from inside people from Nolan's previous turn with the Sabres that matched what Homer said. By the way, before you somehow got your ref duties you were very disrespectful to a certain blogger regularly and facilitated negativity on this board - the internet is such a pleasent place. I saw a lot of other negative things written over the last few days but none were addressed in public like I have been, why is that? What I wrote was a rational post, do you hold a grudge because I supported Garth who you despise and let everyone know it? |

In regards to negativity on this board……
Honestly, is there anything wrong with that? People are wishing for this team to lose ALL of their games, for christ sakes. That is negativity. People with opinions that go against the cheerleading is not negative, it's honest.
I saw the Sabres go to the cup finals when they had the best hockey player in the world. I also saw them go to two straight ECF's after the lockout when nobody knew they were any good. Besides those three years, what is there to believe in? We are all hoping for a championship, not just playoff success.
Everyone has been "cautiously optimistic" about the Bills for 20 years. |

Two surprising developments learned by Sun Media on Tuesday night are sure to rock the Buffalo Bills sale process.
First, former Buffalo Sabres owner Tom Golisano did not submit a bid by Tuesday’s 5 p.m. EDT deadline, as expected.
Secondly, the investment bank conducting the sale of the NFL club for the trust of the late Ralph Wilson received only three bids in total, said a source closely involved in the bid process.
Golisano was seen as one of four shoo-in bidders. The other three followed through on Tuesday. Namely:
* The Toronto group comprising rocker Jon Bon Jovi, MLSE chairman Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family;
* Current Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula, a cash-flush oil-and-gas multi-billionaire who is helping to spearhead downtown Buffalo redevelopment efforts;
* Manhattan multi-billionaire Donald Trump, who like Pegula is bidding alone but who on Monday dismissed his chances |

It is going to be him or the Toronto group. Pegula can pay that bill all by himself. |

15 parties were given the non-disclosure agreements. In other words, 15 parties were eligible to submit a bid, but not guaranteed to do so. These guys did their homework, and they most likely have an idea what the others are willing to pay.
Ultimately it's going to be down to Bon Jovi and his band of merry Canadian Cable folks versus Pegula like we all thought it would be. Pegula has the upper hand as far as the NFL goes because they tend to prefer one majority owner. However, I can't discount that the Toronto crew having pull. |
