My god please let it be Pegula.

Nolan can coach the Bills for all I care if it keeps those other 2 jackasses away

Personally, I hope Pegula just outbids Bon Jovi and tells him "Have a Nice Day!"

15 parties were given the non-disclosure agreements. In other words, 15 parties were eligible to submit a bid, but not guaranteed to do so. These guys did their homework, and they most likely have an idea what the others are willing to pay.

Ultimately it's going to be down to Bon Jovi and his band of merry Canadian Cable folks versus Pegula like we all thought it would be. Pegula has the upper hand as far as the NFL goes because they tend to prefer one majority owner. However, I can't discount that the Toronto crew having pull.

Or they saw that lease agreement and walked away...

Now this is kind of funny:

Tim Graham ‏@ByTimGraham 24m Source told me Golisano under impression he can bid later. Others close to process disagreed. No comment fr Morgan Stanley when asked (2/2)

He has to be smarter than that. Maybe he feels it is up to Pegula to save something this time.

Seriously though, they should take the key to the city from Terrell Owens and give it to Pegula if he keeps the Bills here. He would be an absolute god

Absolutely.

Though there's also the issue of the NFL owners approving whomever the winner is.

So, it seems that the Sabres are facing off against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the most relevant match up since the 1999 Conference Finals.

I was thinking how much the Leafs/Sabres rivalry would heat up if the Bills ever moved

The only way Buffalonians would be able to get tickets is if they held an outdoor game every year.

I'm a bit confused on the process here, is each prospective owner only allowed to bid once? Like the bidding process in baseball? Or is it going to be a traditional auction where whoever made the initial bid will duke it out until someone names a price the other can't afford?

To be honest, I have no idea. The terminology used by Morgan Stanley is "non-binding" so I would assume the parties could change their bids (either higher or lower).

I do not know how the bidding process works exactly but I read somewhere that they can increase their bids. This non binding bid would start the process and would begin the screening process. If there were a lot of bids they would take the highest ones and then they could be increased. That is a general picture of what I remember reading. Since there were only 3 bids there won't be much screening.

Sounds to me like all three could start with low ball offers and then start increasing until there's only one left standing.

Seems to me like both Trump and Bon Jovi are way in over their heads. Don't know much about this stuff but i figure it will take a mammoth bid for either of those two and some serious convincing by the Toronto group in approval.

Or the fact that operating as is, in Buffalo, It would take 30 years just to break even(Bills rank 20th in net profit). Basically the guys who had any idea that they would be making a business investment are out. All that's left are guys who want to throw away 1+ billion to put their name on something.

@JohnKryk 23m Breaking: Ex-Sabres owner Tom Golisano does NOT submit bid for #Bills, and source says only 3 bids submitted. Deets at my blog in a moment

Sounds like Pegula, Trump, and Bon Jovi.

- buffalofan19

Dk why Trump bothered.

The NFL will never let him in after the USFL stuff.

I don't know. I don't think that there is anyway to lose money if you are an NFL team owner. That league prints money.

Not just the most popular sport in America. Not just the most popular TV show in America. It is the most popular THING in America.

No way to lose money at all.

The Bon Jovi group should scare us a bit, imo.

Between Edward Rogers and Larry Tanenbaum, they have a net worth of about $7 billion.

The TV deal pays the players salaries.

The ticket sales and concessions sales go to the owners pockets.

No way to lose money unless you're an idiot.

Only ships that don't sail are partnerships.

NFL has a long history of liking ONE owner.

IMO the Bon Jovi group has a tough hill to climb.

Trump too as again IMO they still harbor ill will from the USFL days.

In 20 yrs the worth of an NFL franchise will likely be doubled.

Say Pegula pays 1.2 Billion.

In 20 years he get 2.4 billion for it plus what he made over the 20 yrs. Add in the interest over that 20 yrs. It's a sound investment.

Should be a rollercoaster ride in the next couple months for Bills fans, though, I would think.

If the team costs 1 billion or more and you net 30 million it will take over 30 years to break even. If you lend my $1,000 and I pay you back over a 33 year period, aren't you going to feel like you lost money?

The scary thing is after all the hub bub about this Billionare from Amherst and
Golisano and all these other guys, there's only 1 man standing in between both the Bills and Sabres leaving, Terry Pegula.
