The NHL, like the rest of the leagues, is a fraternity. Once you're in, there's always going to be a job for you somewhere unless you really do something to piss off the establishment.

What Buff19 said. That and everything I read/heard/saw from his time with the Avs. I can't recall someone who had something even remotely good to say about him. He sounds like someone who is stuck in the dump and chase era and not willing to evolve his coaching beyond that.

There's no doubt in my mind that someone would give LaFontaine another front office job should he want it.

I thought I heard something about that. I am going to be volunteering at one of the concerts at Canalside coming up. I haven't seen the building up close in quite a while. It should be interesting.

Yeah, it's amazing. Once the structure gets laid down, you really can move. My employer just built a new building in Williamsville/Clarence, and went from a skeleton to just about finished in about a month and a half.

How can I ? You railed on all of us what a mistake it would be to take Reinhart over Bennett . Most of said we wanted Reinhart but we trust what decision TM made . You did get a little intense.

No one has said he is perfect . But don't start ragging on him till he makes mistakes . It is almost like folks just can't wait for his first mistake so they can help him pack.

NHL is like any other pro sports league . The same names just get reshuffled in different organizations . Look at the Bills . Our defensive coordinator goes to coach the browns then Detroit's ex head coach comes here to be our Defensive coordinator . A couple decent years here and he will get offered a head coaching job again . Everybody just gets recycled.
Just look at Sacco , sucked in Colorado , did not do anything here and now he is an assistant in Boston

I think some here are over reacting especially when most of what you hear is merely speculation coming from at the very best 3rd party mouths.
But you are entitled to your opinion of course.
Even Homer is a 3rd party mouth and I usually believe much of what he types out here.
But, I don't believe for one second that Ted Nolan is nothing more than an expensive cheerleader for this hockey club or any other hockey club he seems to always has had success with.
Does or did he always have the same assistants with him to ensure his success?
The answer is no.
There is an agenda or a pre formed opinion for this guy with a lot of fans that most will not hear or want to hear anything positive about the man.
