I know the Kevin Hayes talk gets nauseating but it's not yet August and already there is talk that he isn't likely going to sign? I think it is all just posturing at this point on both sides.
I wonder if there is a team crazy enough to trade for him without just waiting for him to be an UFA.
Also you know it's July in the NHL calender when their is Leino talks. That's all this team needs is another slow skater who lacks the ability to play D |

I was reading a rumour on Bobby Ryan this evening. It was something simple. Not many believe he'll re-sign with Ottawa, there is no reason for anyone to believe that he will re-sign with them, they have very little going for them. So I started watching Bobby Ryan highlights. Looking at his states. Some might underrate him, some might overrate him but all in all, he's a really good offensive player.
I know the Flyers are strapped for cap space but I still believe the Flyers will find away to make him a Flyer within the year. It's just a feeling I have. He's a pure shooter, which we're missing. He's a year older then Giroux and a year younger then Read.
If Ryan wants to be here as much as some might suggest, I think you have to take this year and find away to create the space. The kid looked really, really good prior to getting hurt this season and he wasn't even playing with Jason Spezza.
I think more then anything, I just want Claude Giroux to have a guy like Bobby Ryan to play with. |

He would bring a much needed element on the left side. That said, the Flyers really have to find a way to move Vinny's contract to make it work. Ryan might give the Flyers preference but he isn't going to come with a 4 million dollar cap hit. His addition would mean a significant subtraction elsewhere.

I'd rather target Evander Kane. Same size, younger and faster, just as physical a player, possibly more talented.
He's never played with a Getzlaff, but he's had a 30 goal season on his resume. |

I would be fine with either. Though I think Ryan will at the very least test FA. This rule rule giving pending UFAs a week to talk to teams really creates a scenario where there is little to no reason for the player not to take advantage of it. Kane will cost significant assets, that's my only worry with him. Chris Stewart is a guy I would have interest in too. Obviously a step down from Ryan and Kane though. |

Ideally we've gotta get rid of the Lecavalier deal. Speaking for myself I'd like to get rid of Umberger too. I don't know how attractive this group looks to you guys down the road but I would be overjoyed to have this as the main focus of our team.
Schenn-Giroux-Ryan
Read-Couturier-Simmonds
Raffl-Laughton-Voracek
Morin-Gostisbehere
Sanheim-Schenn
Hagg-Alt
Mason
Schultz
Keep in mind Ryan can play both wings.

Yeah, Stewart is a guy that has talent, but hasn't been able to put it all together on a consistent basis. It'll be interesting to see what Hextall does when he has some cap room to be a serious FA player. |
