PK is better on the PP. But Hamhuis is the safe reliable pick. I would of done the same. And it's hard to argue that they made the wrong decision by putting Hamhuis in and not subban because they won the gold medal..... - JVR_42_PK81
It wasnt an indictment at all that hamhuis was 'better'.
It was a totally different role the two were picked for.
Subban haed to beat out keith, weber or doughty. Not an easy task.
And whoever said subban isnt good cause he didnt play much on what was maybe the best defensive group ever; is just a silly statement |

I'm not rooting for it, I'm just explaining why arguments like "how can he make more than 7 when Doughty only get's 7?" don't make any sense. - ehabs9
well, one thing I can say is that Subban was invisible vs the Rangers in the conference final, and the Rangers had no answer for doughty in the finals |

they're going to really stick to managing his minutes. hopefully a healthy Seidenberg can keep Chara around 20 a game in the regular season. - Fountain-San
until Colton Orr tenderizes him on October 25th |

There's some players you screw with in negotiations and some you don't.. PK is a guy you don't do it with. Bergevin is proving himself to be an incompetent GM by Richarding him around. |

as usual, running away from a real challenge |

Still...would you rather have Chara or PK with the playoffs they both had ? - BashCH
So you're basing it entirely on one playoffs? Chara looked bad this playoffs. Guy is still dominant and did it all season.
So by your logic, Crosby is a third line plugger now cause he had a bad playoffs and Justin Williams is now the top player in the NHL. Sounds about right... |

I'm losing my mind with all the people comparing contracts at face value with no regard to context or situation. - ehabs9
I hear ya, but does this make PK's situation even more dangerous for the Habs? I think so. The fact that really aren't any "comparables" could see this escalate to a point where MTL doesn't want to go.
PK has an opportunity to be the highest paid D in the league and raise the bar for the NHLPA going forward. PK settled for a bridge deal a couple years ago, there's NO WAY that he bites the bullet again... It's the organization's turn. Not only does PK know it, but I'm sure that he's hearing it from his family, friends, agent, other players and the NHLPA reps themselves.
PK is in the driver's seat and Bergevin and the organization better buckle up! |

We do this to them quite often in the playoffs. Just ask Don Cherry... |
