Yea, another lockout is inevitable. I think that's spot on. But I could see it going up even more then that as the full effects of the new tv contract kicks in.
That discussion was about Chicago and their situation. As far as the Flyers are concerned. If the right move to trade for a defenseman, or as a UFA presents itself, they have to make it. They can't afford to sit back and wait. - MJL
They do have some cap space when Pronger goes onto LTIR. They also need to carry another forward and maybe a Dman who won't cost much so that will chew most of that up, but there's no cap emergency. For example, they don't HAVE to dump Lacavalier to be cap compliant. I'm not crazy about the roster but if they want to exceed my modest expectations, this is the year for B Schenn and Couturier to take their games to the next level. If that doesn't happen, they pretty much are what they are up front and the D is nothing special. A bubble team, good enough to make the playoffs but hardly a lock. |

Ha! That makes it even harder...ready to go right now. I so want Schenn and Couturier to break out this year, be 50-60 point players, and I think they can/will, but I need the season to start to find out.
Flyers will be pretty damn dangerous if those two guys make "the leap"

It's pretty simple.
1.) The A's sucked badly when the Phillies started getting good around the late 40's, early 50's. The last 15 years of Connie Mack's management run resulted in mostly last place finishes.
2.) Attendance at A's games went to Florida Panther levels as a result of item 1.
3.) The A's were sold to a guy who moved them to Kansas City. Fin.

Great player.....complete scumbag...doesnt deserve to be in the Flyers Hall. It stems from the Bill Barber Mutiny....I ve seen MOAT explain the situation before and he has a great handle on it, BO does as well. Hopefully, he has his rift saved and can copy and paste it - KINGKENZO
I think the whole Recchi vs. Barber stuff is nonsense. I really do. |

Unless someone gets hurt or traded, I'm saying no. I could very well be wrong but I'm thinking a top nine roster spot has to open up. |

Thats an insult to turds, at least they are part of a healthy bodily function dispatching the waste and impurities. The Phillies GMS bring waste and impurities in and get rid of the good

I am assuming the question is presented as if each of the players were about to be drafted into the NHL?
If so, as a Flyer fan, it pains me to say Crosby. I know he is only 5'11 but the dude has sequoia trees for legs. Stronger than he looks. He has all the tools. I know he whines to the refs, but that's my only gripe with the guy.
As much as I love me some Weber and Doughty, unless their is a second coming of Bobby Orr, you don't start a team with defense. Can't win games 0-0. Gotta have a guy who can put it in the net on a nightly basis. |
