It will be interesting to see what Trottier can do with the forward group. |

Unless he can reincarnate himself and Mike Bossy as 25 year olds, probably not much. |

You're probably right. I enjoy that they are trying to put together a culture. I don't know what that culture is, or what the identity of this team will be, but at least they are trying something. |

Random Question (because my computer at work does not like to play nicely and I cannot look it up)
Does anyone know what coaches will be available, as of now, in two years that would be ideal for this team? |

I would be willing to try out a guy like Stevens or Arniel if they are ready. Obviously, I would prefer to have a Cup winning coach, but that will be tough to come by I am sure. If Boudreau is available, I'm assuming it's because the Ducks could not get over the hump and win a cup.

I put Boudreau in there because of the thought that if he doesn't get the Ducks past the Hawks or Kings in the next few years he'll be gone.
Murray is familiar with both Richardson and Hartsburg so I could see the thinking there. I agree that Arniel and Stevens might be at the top of some team's list in a few years, including Buffalo. My dark horse is Tippett, if he's available obviously.
Babcock would and should be the heavy favorite if he becomes available but I have the feeling Detroit will give him a Senior VP position. |

I think the issue with Boudreau if that is the case, is that he cannot get to the promised land. Part of the "always a bridesmaid" category. The Ducks have a stacked team this year, and should be able to give the Kings and Hawks a run for their money, but the backend is where their issues lie. I am really surprised they didn't sign a vet. Maybe they will get Marty to show Andersen and Gibson the ropes.
Isn't the other rumor that Babcock could go to the UofM? I know this has been debated before and many think it's a step backward for him, and I personally don't believe he would go to the collegiate level. I would put him at the top of my list. I don't remember when his contract in Detroit is up... 2 years? |

If I was Murray I would pass on Boudreau, think they'll get someone much younger. I never heard of the Babcock to UM rumor but I can't see the Wings parting with him just yet. He would be #1 choice here followed by Tippett/Arniel/Stevens.

I would as well.
I would have to think if they let him go (or he walks for more money after winning a cup) you would have to take into account that he has Getzlaf, Perry and Kesler leading his top 6. We don't have anything comparable to that. He didn't win a cup with Ovi and Backstrom, so I don't think our line-up would do him any justice. |

Luke Richardson from Binghamton would seem to make some sense as a likely target of Murray's |

i would like to get Arniel back in the Organization....i know he had a rough go of it in Columbus, but there is untapped potential there.....,it don't think Craig Ramsey was mentioned, he also got a raw deal in Winnipeg hes a good coach he will get another chance. |
