We are playing 1 a week before other teams. To the starters this game is meaningless. Ask any pro coach. They all want shorter preseasons

I'm thinking Marrone and Hackett think preseason is pretty important. Especially when your 'franchise' QB looks the same as last year. (Sans in injury....yet)

as much as i respect you 89 and your opinion, you have to let off the gas until at least regular season. This is an extremism idea. just cuz the two backups threw a pick and the starter couldnt throw a td doesnt mean we have the worst qbs in the league. Its an extra game and they probably dont have a rhythm or a lot of chemistry yet. give it a little more time

Briere. I think he was a #2 C at best, and wasn't that vital to our team like Drury was. Sure, he had a 95 point year, but he did pretty much nothing else.

They were great together, but neither were top line centers

I miss those days of depth

Vanek was like +47 with over 40 goals bouncing around the 2nd and 3rd lines in '07. Sure, he had crazy PP time, but that's impressive

Drury had the leadership, defensive ability, and clutch play, which puts him above Briere in my eyes.

Eh, Briere was 2x the offensive threat Drury was though.

Drury is a legend in Buffalo, he gets talked about as if he were a HOF'er.

Either way I agree on Briere not being a legit #1

It's crazy how anyone could be called over rated on those teams after the lockout. Maybe it shows the true value of "team"
